Does anyone know? I heard from one person that most were shot down by small arms fire.

37/57mm AAA probably shot down more aircraft than small arms fire.

Shooting down a F-105 going 400 kts with an AK is quite a challenging feat.

Indeed, however often when the Vietcog were attacked by American aircraft they would focus all their weapons towards one aircraft.

when you have hundreds of guys all trying to do the same thing, they sometimes got lucky
