I'm surprised that with so many Americans and some French here nobody mentioned today's anniversary. Seeing how much response Mogadish anniversary generated I'm really surprised.

Let's see if anybody knows which one I'm talking about...

Arab terrorist killed our troops, what did we do? we pulled our troops out, that sent a message to the terrorist, if you kill our troops we will pull back and not respond in kind. The IDF was all over Beirut, so we should have dealt with Damascus personally.

yeah, that was a very bad precedent. it just got worse from there for Israel and the US.

There has been French troops in the Lebanon since 1978 and they have lost over 130 KIA there, including 58 during the Drakkar bombing.

That's because all you hear is USMC bombing.
