Work In Progress - the colors are roughed in and ready for touch-up, tape still masking off the sight areas and the pad on the buttstock. I put the furniture back together without the barrel or gearbox, just to check out how the pattern fits.

Looks pretty damn good to fit into the jungle. But I can see what looks to be splotches were the paint went on thick.

Very nice though, fits quite well on a G36.p-)

[quote] Jesus **** that's a nice paintjob on the G36C! Now all you need is to wrap some hockey tape around the grip and jury-rig a cheek rest on the stock!

Yeah, we play in a "mixed hardwood & pine" area - lots of pine, oak, maple, sweet-gum - lots of "brush-trees" too - sassafrass, sumac, wild blueberry, and such, with vines of every description - muskedine/wild-grape, sawbriar, wild blackberry, poison ivy, virginia creeper, honeysucle, and so on.

As for color choices, well, that was just what I had around the house - Krylon colors I got on clearance to try out as camo patterns for a fictional-country's army. The guns will be paired with German flecktarn bdu's.

I figured I could get *some* usage out of my junker Both Elephant guns... p-)

I've got a second gun on the paint-rack right now, going at it with a different approach to painting. (different ratios of colors, mainly) Still doing it freehand from a spray-can outside in the breeze, so it'll still have lumps and bubbles. :-( Reckon I'm a long way from being a graffitti artist, eh? :)

Once the second one is done, I'll take them both out into our normal play-area and lay them out and take pics to see how they work.

On my old G36C I had hockey tape (nylon tape) wrapped around the grip and stock for comfort and ease. When I swapped in a K front end and stock, I added a raised cheek rest by cutting some styrofoam, taping that down, and wrapping it in hockey tape.
You can see what it looked like on my G36C here;

why "" ?

blackwater is so mainstream, and everybody wants to be like bw. They're the envy because they get to work in a war zone and make tons of money, and provide a vital service and contribution to rebuilding iraq, and other hot spots in the world.

I don't envy them for the money that they do and I don't want to be a BW. The cap in the photo is a gift from a friend.
I respect them for the "not-so-easy-as-media-show" work that they do.

It's clocking at a decent 365fps -- on a 0.30g.

I'll probably get a spring upgrade to push it just a bit higher (using the same BB weight) and give it a decent range.

With low wind and a top-notch hop-up, achieving a kill at 225ft - 245ft shouldn't be a surprise. I tested it on a tree at 245ft and the result was +/- a foot from left to right.

I think using a 6.03 or a 6.01 tightbore barrel (complemented with a 0.36g BB) should give the operator a decent SWS capable of consistently hitting a target at 250ft.

Thanks for the compliments, guys! After hauling them out into our playing area, I'm wondering if maybe I should go heavier on the brown and tan and be a little gentler with the greens - that seems to be how our play-area looks. Lots of dead pinestraw and leaves with only a wee bit of green vegetation scattered about in most places. That's prolly what I'll try next. (ANYTHING beats the heck out of the plain black gun out there!!)

outlands youre right on that one... my thoughts exactly. First rule of thumb in camo & concealment... consider and study the terrain youre operating in. Only when havin done that you can effectively apply camouflage. Your AO seems to be mostly brown with a bit of green. At the moment the camo pattern seems more suited to spring fields.

The hard part is that we have significant transition areas, as well, much more akin to fields than the woods. *sigh* Gotta love operational hurdles...

Well, these ppl who play airsoft are probably 18, not yet ready to join the army, or just in college and want to get a taste of weapons. It's pretty fun just plinking around in the backyard. Well, let me give ya a run-down on some of my team:

6yo girl - kinda young to be joining the Marines, like she intends
13yo boy - still too young to join the Marines, as planned
me - former Marine
23yo - disqual'd for medical reasons
38yo - no prior service, other than being a Marine wife

--non-active team members--

20yo - once he gets home from USAF TAC-P training, will be a reservist and an ROTC cadet in college
23yo - plans to join team once he rotates stateside from USAF deployment in Japan
19yo - ROTC Cadet
19yo female - paintballer, girlfriend of above, no military aspirations
19yo female - currently in advanced training for Army on Blackhawks

If I EVER manage to get the entire team outfitted and in the same place at the same time, I'll have almost an entire infantry SQUAD. That's just kinda cool...our mix will have:

Infantry/Heavy Weapons
Vehicle Ops
Pilot
Helicopter Mechanic
Tac. Air Control (bordering on Special Forces)

Tactical controllers are Ranger and airborne qualified, and are proficient in static line and high-altitude, low-open parachute tactics, as well as in air assault and scuba operations.

I play it just because its another sport. I don't really like sports but this one gets me off my ass. Also, it allows me to do things, like reenacting combat, without having to deal with the REAL consequences of REAL combat. Basicly I play because its a first person shooter thats not on a TV/monitor :)

Nevertheless, nice guns, Olka.

I have been inspired by quite a few of these posts, specifically the M14 be LORD ***. Mmmmmmm...Nice. Another month or so I plan on expanding my collection starting with that one. Plus I have a project in the works now that is missing a few pieces, but I am sure you all will like it when it's done. In the mean time here is picture of one of my current rifles. This one has only been used twice, both big games, since I have a few other workhorses.

I was going for an imitation of a real steel rifle, this is my result...
http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/8482/noveskeafghanandmulticauv1.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
At one point it was a classic army m15a4 ris, but the only thing that remains original is the metal body and the outer barrel. Even the charging handle is aftermarket. This is the newest addition to my family and will probably get a few more changes including the vltor stock and a similar scope to the real one pictured. The one I was going for is HERE (http://noveskerifleworks.com/cgi-bin/imcart/display.cgi?item_id=afghancarbine&cat=2&page=1&search=&since=&status=). Oh, and the vest is a multicam C.I.R.A.S.

Whadya think?

Edit: sorry for the datestamp.

I was going to paint the PEQ, but decided against it as I didn't want to paint over the warning stickers. As for the 203, I was also going to paint it, but got too lazy to do so. I guess mismatched look also gives it slightly a bit more character.

As for the manufacturer of the carbine, it started as a TM 1st Generation M4A1 3 years ago....way before CHICOM clones started to hit the markets. After 3 years of use/abuse, I am a firm believer of TM's excellent quality. I have a metal receiver and RIS installed, and performed an internal upgrade myself to bring the FPS from 280 to 350. 3 years of use, and I still love this rifle....which is probably why I never use my CHICOM MP5 clone.

I bought the single part and i realize all the ASG.

The metal bodies is the G&P NOveske Metal Body , The RAs is the G&P Carbine Ras with a KingArms outerbarrel (10.5") , the flash hider is the Hurricane KX33, the stock is a stock for real gun made by CAA with a special adapter for RIS/RAS Magazines (in this Mag a have inserted a LIPO 7.4v 3300MhA 20C).

I worked with a Dremel to adapt some parts.

The ROF is really good (about 1770 BB/min) and it work really close to the italian limit 94 m/s with 0.20 BB (in Italy we have a limitation of 1 joule).

Time for pics of the newest addition to the family. This was meant to be a replica of a real M4, the .pdf below has a picture of the real one. The top gun in the .pdf is the one I copied, however they had a choice of stocks and the guy at the bottom is holding the one I went with. By the way this was built without a donor, from scratch.

StatikZero, how did you pull off the single-part receiver/outerbarrel?

I fixed all of the pics, if you click on them they should all work now.

StatikZero, how did you pull off the single-part receiver/outerbarrel?

Not sure what you mean, but the barrel is from a Classic Army CQB and the receiver is a G&P Troy metal body. The barrel mounts to the upper using the standard screw on type delta ring. Then the r.i.s. clamps to that creating one continuous top rail. Hope that answers your question.

That, actually looks sweet. I thought about doing mine this way but I had the M203 laying around collecting dust. Now, it can collect dust on a gun. I like the new troy flashhider but I wanted to keep it true to the original. The only thing that I couldn't exactly match was the old troy receivers. By the way did you machine your barrel to that length or...?

Olka
06-07-2007, 08:04 PM
Actually, the original barrel is 14.5". I shorten it by myself. Maybe I'll get another barrel, and modify it be same as yours. I surely want to build one similar with M203. I really like yours.

I like the new Troy mark instead of the old one... I remember that the other side of the old one was marked LMT... not really sure... I like the new CQB icon.

Really a good toy! Good! Good! Good!

Well, I used to hate this MP5 (UTG) because it wasn't a top performer, nor was it special. But after owning for 1.5 years, I finally got to work on it. I threw in a extra set of Systema Bushings I had laying around, my old stock TM M4 spring, and reshimmed/re-lubed the gears. Now it has a slightly higher fps and higher ROF due to the re-shimming with my small 8.4v battery. I actually like this little subgun now. I then picked up a metal low-cap for it after the gearbox work.
http://img2.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/5eb3c27afd.jpg (http://www.freeimagehosting.net/)

I also purchased one of those GripPod replicas. It's useful, but the finish felt cheap. After sanding a few areas and a coat of black paint, it's a bit better. It's quite comfortable in my larger hands, so this may be staying on the M4 for a while.

This is how the setup works, you grab a 10.5" outer barrel with a replica Noveske KX3 flashider, and you put it all on a mid-length RAS and it'll look like that...

Hispeed1
06-08-2007, 09:39 PM
I just picked up a couple of tactical lights and the end of a convertible barrel. I usually run this gun with a 10.5" barrel, but with the barrel end I can switch to a 14.5" carbine anytime. p-)

the weight for the Dual lights & a Vert Grip is similar as the Surefire M900A.

Of all the weapons in the vast soviet ****nal, nothing was more profitable than Avtomat Kalashnikova model of 1947. More commonly known as the AK-47, or Kalashnikov. It's the world's most popular assault rifle. A weapon all fighters love. An elegantly simple 9 pound amalgamation of forged steel and plywood. It doesn't break, jam, or overheat. It'll shoot whether it's covered in mud or filled with sand. It's so easy, even a child can use it; and they do. The Soviets put the gun on a coin. Mozambique put it on their flag. Since the end of the Cold War, the Kalashnikov has become the Russian people's greatest export. After that comes vodka, caviar, and suicidal novelists. One thing is for sure, no one was lining up to buy their cars. For my very first venture in the AK world, a humble beginning, the G&G RK-47. Since no-one bothers to bring out a flipping AK-47 without bolting on scope mounts and warp drives, I said turds and got the RK. It's not the 47 that I want, but it's still pretty damn close.

Also, the silver bolt should be like that on the Ak-47 :)

I must admit, a simple AK47/74 is pretty tempting, I used my buddies AK74 at a recent game and loved it!

Very nice. Who makes the clip on the mag?

It's G&G. It's not RS-like but I think it looks cool:roll:

How is it attached.. you can always remove it somehow ;) At max you might have to refinish the receiver, which isn't that much of a shame on the Rk series..

It's attached with hex screws (ofcourse), didn't try to remove it yet. I'm having 3 weeks exercise this month, it's gonna have to wait till the holidays.

I just cold blued the flash supp after the pic was taken, so it's a darker hue. I may eventually get around to actually painting it again though.

hi! we dont use star mags anymore (they´re inferior :-()!

The mags from MAG are a good choice. I bought mine last spring and I´m surpriced because, they´re very solid and easy to clean. :)
