WOW! Your loadout is amazing!
I especially like the authentic look of your ass, just like a real operator. Which brand ass is that? Any idea where I can get a hold of one? It will make my PSD Loadout so much more complete! :)

First you need a Banana Republic Brown undershirt(can be seen in the movie "Blood Diamond"), Lucky Jeans, Timberland hiking boots, Glock 17 with hip holster, and a "Bad News Bears" T-shirt to round it off.
The mixing of yellow and brown is key for a Bee-ish look for me being LAworkerbee and all
Most important DO NOT forget high speed Ray-Ban sunglasses or you totally fail.
I also recommend clear magazines so people can see you mean business because it shows off your bullets and stuff.
Sadly the ass can not be purchased at this time, however perhaps it is possible to make a mold of said ass but this will require some special work from RomanS

Respect. It is a perfect mix, looks like the real deal to me. Why did you choose the Lucky Jeans over Levi's or Diesel? It's not what the real deal operator wears but it is compensated by the rest of your Loadout.
What brand of underwear did you use to complete your loadout?

Did you got the butt implants from a SF/PSD item auction in Japan or is it natural?

I went as a true commando! therefore there is no underwear worn and my ass is modeled on Argyll's ass when he was in his 20's, High level operators get their asses molded early on in case it gets shot off when on an OP.
The Lucky jeans provide superior camouflage in an urban environment because it lets me blend into the surrounding civilian population even if I happen to be operating in a gay enclave of the city which wearing Levi's (unless they are cut off into shorts) would make me stand out.

Gap Jeans are the best for accentuating the butt - they take a natural 45 degree FBI cant sag. I have field tested them and they came out the winner... Writing on the arms makes you look like you are moving back in time...

Just to answer your question:
Knights Armament mid-length RAS=$335.
Replica=$108.
EOTech 552=$460.
Replica=$115.
Yes, there are airsofters who buy real steel parts/accesories. Personally, I can't justify/afford spending that much money for that. If you're not military/law enforcement and your life doesn't depend on it, you don't need the real thing. My .02 cents-

You use the rail cover to secure your RAS into place do you? Cause you seem to have no gas tube coming from the front end of your gun and I can't figure out any other use for that rail cover there.

yea systema isnt really necessary i think...
ok unless youve won the lottery..
but then again id spend it on something else than a 1500 $ AEG.....
for that price you could get 3 other AEGīs and maybe some other nice toys..
or buy a real weapon...

11-19-2007, 04:21 AM
Thats why I bought a real AR instead of a systema. If your going to spend that much making it as real as possible why not get the real thing. Then there are people who can't get the real ARs.

true..
but in the end..
cīmon 1500 bucks just for a basic AEG rifle?...
i mean we airsofters are nuts no doubt.. but 1500 bucks just for one piece???....
no...
And ontop of it, if you actually play at sanctioned state association created games (this excludes all other countries than the US) the PTW already shoots too hot to use in an outdoor or indoor game. So if you're going to buy a really expensive gun just to DOWNGRADE it so you can use it, is seriously a waste of money. The PTW is for military / police training. p-)

I've had my fingers on a PTW a couple of times. First time, it was my friend's and it had a crane stock on it. I wanted to try the gun and was going to pull out the crane stock for a better stance with it, I prefer it a bit more extracted than my pal did. The second I touched the stock my friend was screaming and waving to stop me from pulling it, he was worried about the wires inside the stock. Shouldn't one be able to adjust the damn thing without fear of braking it?
The second time I took a few shots with one, that was pretty much just out of box, and came to the conclusion that my stock CA(everything is CA, other than the spring, which is a Systema M100) has a better fps and accuracy rating than the PTW.
Ok, the PTW has a few nice innovative attributes to it like the easily changable cylinder set, but if I was to pay 700 + for an airsoft weapon I'd expect something astounding and not just something like real-like magazines and the warm and fuzzy feeling everything being systema.
Not my cup of tea.

I purchased a PTW for the opposite reasons mentioned above. I do love my AEGs and the PTW is by no means the end all to an airsofter's needs. However I just was sick and tired of the maintenance of my regular AEGs of the cost associated to them. I purchased My PTW MX with the and Blue and gold cylinder, which both fall below the 400 fps mark. The crane stock wires are extremely durable and are wound like a phone cord so they can be stretched and pulled beyond what you need to attach batteries. I can put a mech box in with 2 screws and less than 4 minutes if there is an issue.
As far as accuracy goes, I can't say enough about how accurate it is. Its significantly better than my TM AK which i consider the best out there, and by far the most consistent weapon I own. I can hit a squashed soda can at 200 ft every single shot. My other M4 types would be 3 ft outside at that distance.
The price is a bit steep, but I was spending almost the same on my other AEGs just to get them where I wanted them to be. The PTWs features like pressing the bolt catch before you can shoot. Stops firing when your out of BBs. The ease of maintenance made it worth every penny. I guess I just wanted something more than a toy.
After using one for a few months now, I would never go back to standard AEGs and the ability to use my real steel accessories just augments the value.

I really hate to break it to you but the PTW is as much of a toy as any other AEG out there. In the end they all fire 6mm bb's. A PTW actually has more things in it that can go wrong than a conventional AEG. Im sorry but unless you're running your AEG at ridiculous velocity levels a properly shimmed and set up AEG will run for AGES.
How long have you owned your PTW? What you posted above seems to be a common misconception with many new PTW owners. These guns are by no means perfect and they've got their own host of problems just like a typical AEG. Dont delude yourself into thinking its not a toy or a machine and it wont break. Most PTW issues dont originate in the gearbox, they tend to occur in the electronics which happen to cost an assload of money, go figure.
Dont get me wrong, the PTW is a great gun but they're overpriced for what they are.
Also, to the above posters that said, "get a real gun". Airsoft is not target shooting and target shooting is not airsoft. A real firearm cannot be used to LEGALLY shoot another human being. When are people going to understand that airsoft and "real steel" share only one thing in common, that being looks.
Its all relative, people spend money on god knows how many crazy things. I mean hell, people out there will spend 10,000 plus on a working machine gun. Same goes for airsoft.

Amen to that.
And also I want to emphasize that I don't think PTWs are crap, I just don't think of them as godlike as some people do. I'm doing just fine with CA, and I do appreciate everyone being entitled to their own opinions, so I don't want to seem like I don't. I just wanted to bring my meaningless 2 cents to the conversation, that's what public forums are for, right? Nobody here should have any affect on anyones brain functioning(assuming they do function :D ), and it's just all pure jibber jabber that will eventually disappear as the days go by.

My take on this is if someone wants to spend a sh!tload of money on a hobby I say let him. It's better than doing drugs. And it's not a total waste of money because you can still resell it when the time comes.
My AEG is a Chinese-made D-Boy CASV. Really cheap when compared to TMs, CAs, and Systemas, but, what I expect from my AEG is it's performance -- and I can have it upgraded to perform much better. Other guys who buy expensive AEGs might have their own reasons. One thing I do admire about expensive AEGs are their durability. I once took a nasty spill while on assault and my AEG got smacked hard on the ground. As expected, the plastic receiver had cracks here and there but it still shoots fine.
My 0.2 cents.

Yep, it's custom made. It's shorter and thicker than the real one. That heavy barrel is just short barrel on the original M4 barrel. It's also so tight that friction keeps it in place. So it's easy to pull it of if needed.

LOL. You're right! Well, at least it's painted on one side partially. I'll work on it later if I remember!
But you were right about painting the whole gun. It's surprising how that small of a detail can really change the look of a rifle.

When I played, I noticed how easy it was to spot even the smallest non-camo object against a natural background, because of contrast, and sometimes shine. One of the 5 S's: Shape, Shine, Sillhouette, Shhhcontrast, and Something else. ;-)

12-27-2007, 11:43 PM
Most of the people I play against aren't that observant p-).
But you're absolutely right about the 5 S's though.
Did I also say that your previous paint works inspired a lot of my works?

I've not painted anything in a long time. And, you should play against folks who hunt people. ;-) Or something.

TacoDelRio
12-28-2007, 01:03 AM
Just gotta spend lotsa time in the dirt, watching and observing and all that crap, and eventually you'll see what I mean. Hunt other players, and you can actually do a lot while alone, or in a small team of 4 or some such.

It's not that difficult to do really...and with practice, anyone could practically do it.
Alright, I also finished up the rest of the parts of the carbine, namely the foregrip. I have also finished the CQBR front end and the BUIS.

Despite this having green in the paint job, it strangely also adapts well to areas where there isn't much green. Test picture:

well actually to break shape effectively you dont need to have perfectly blending colours. If you had painted the gun with gray tones it would still blend in a lot better than just black.
IMO your painting is pretty nice, personally I think the pattern is just a bit too repetitive. I mean all of the "leafs" are spread out nice and even, and I think it'd look cooler with more variety. I'm having trouble expressing myself effectively atm but I hope you can understand what I mean.
Kilo1-1
12-28-2007, 06:19 PM
Thanks for the suggestions!
As for the 'leafs', they're just stencils I cut freehanded with my exacto knife.
I take into account suggestions from others for my next work in the future.
TacoDelRio
12-28-2007, 06:35 PM
I'd make sure to put some omore of those lighter colored grass leaves covering and intersecting some o the dark areas. That may help break it up some more.
Kilo1-1
12-29-2007, 12:26 AM
Alright, I think I think I know what you're saying, but correct me if I'm wrong. You're suggesting to put more of the khaki colored stripes over the darker areas and the ares that are transitioning from dark to light and vice versa right?
If that's the case, it should be pretty easy to do. :)
TacoDelRio
12-29-2007, 01:59 AM
Yup. In the end, just gotta take it out into whatever place you play at or whatever, put it down without anything over it, face 180 away, walk however far, and look back. Doesn't hafta be perfect, but your eye should not be drawn to it. Any of it. Not that this is super-serious crap where you'll die or anything, but it's nice to not lose a game because you neglected to paint some sorta part or something, or there was too much contrast.
Some of you really need to know the difference between AK74 and an AK47 mags! :fork:
Some really nice airsoft guns here guys. Will post my own when I am finnished with them.

Yep, that's what it really boils down to in the end.
On a side note, my gun probably blends in better in the surroundings than myself. I don't wear BDUs when I go skirmish...since I never really invested in a pair of woodland ones. Cargo pants or jeans, and a discrete fleece. I guess if I painted it right, I'll look like I'm holding 'almost nothing' in my hands. Which reminded me of how Wonder Woman had that invisible jet...yet everyone could friggin see her when she was flying in it.
Edit: Found some pictures I forgot to post on here.

lol. Most of my money either goes to paying other expenses, and what I have left over, it's usually spent on parts for the AEGs or my AR15, lol. I guess I never prioritized getting camo...but it's just airsoft. My life doesn't depend on it necessary. With that said...painting guns is just a hobby. I'm still trying to find the 'perfect pattern' that I'm happy with to paint my RRA AR, lol.

You buy 100+ dollar ESS goggles, yet you don't buy a decent chin strap for your ACH / MICH which will cost 50 or less - because I still see you're using the non issued, piece of crap leather strap that doesnt even fit on your chin still.

@ Lerch: Cool rifles, you even have matched colours! Do they both actually use same magazines, that must be quite profit not needing to buy special mags for every different type of replica weaponry one owns..? You need to add something to the M4 frontset though!
@ Bloodsword: Nice to see a collection with varying kinds of airsoft guns! Does the AK have real wooden parts? Nice add to boost the realism and outlook of the gun, although I'm not a great fan of Kalashnikov as a model. :) Handguns and the Colt look great though, have you thought of painting some pattern on the M4? Looking forward to see it camouflaged!
This is my main armament. The type of the rifle still remains a mystery to me, I cannot find a similar IRL equivalent with given typename. I use to call it M4 SR-16 although it doesn't posses the rails on the frontset. The backup is H&K USP I got for Christmas.
http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/5346/c1nd3.png
Along with others... Type 96, P228 and Mp5k. I had to saw off the front grip to fit the mp5 into my holster.
http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/8206/colt2be7.png
My two cents!
Cheers,

Thanks Frenzy, nice M4 you have there!
The AK is a CYMA AKS-74U w/ wooden parts. It performs very well after I installed Madbull Type II precision barrel and systema hop-bucking to it. I really recommend this gun! Though, you need to change the lazy stock battery which comes with the gun.
Krylon paints are kinda hard to get here in Finland, so im still looking for a can or two for the M4. Dunno if I should paint it matte black, sand or OD. Neither do I know if I should get a fixed stock(it would store a proper battery atleast) to it or a crane stock

Dunno if I should paint it matte black, sand or OD.
Paint it to match the area in which you intend to use the item. All other methods of painting, while cool looking, are counter-productive.

Cheers mate, the matching grips was a fluke, when I ordered the Stowaway from eHobby they were out of black ones, so I got them to send a green one instead. And yes, both can use the STANAG (M16-type) mags. The only thing is that the normal L85 mags are about a half inch longer then the M16 mags, so I may end up grabbing some STAR L85 magazines later on.
And don't tempt me to 'pimp my Armalite'...it's hard enough not painting it ;)

I'm getting a Classic Army M15 A4 RIS in full metal. It has the rail mounted battery pack (PEQ) I think is what it's called. When the battery dies, I can just take the battery pack off the rail and plug the whole thing into the charger right? And if I reallly wanted to be a whore, I could buy a second battery pack for reserve?
I get it in 3 weeks!! I haven't been this excited since before I found out Santa was fake.
