And why is that???????????
cause its A grade ****.

i have had two of them, second is a replacement and it has the same problems as the first one.

first. the front grip is not under warranty so When (not if) it falls off you have to buy a new one.

second. if you remove a magazine with any bbs in, in any way but having the mag pointed to the ground bbs can get inside and get stuck behind the trigger and get into where the gearbox is.

third. the trigger system is crap. after a while(not long at all) the gun will not respond to the single fire part of the trigger pull and sometime after that it will stop responding to full auto trigger pull

so no doubt the externals are excellent, well except for the front grip, but the gun is not worth all the trouble

And the knife will probably be illegal in NL.
So thats why it stays in the case, in Belgium.

Yes the rounds are retarded, and the noob above him needs to take the stupid ear plugs off of his stock, another stupid noob thing to do. You would never put those in YOUR EARS after being out on patrol all day in IRAQ / AFGHANISTAN. You'll be in the BAS or TMC the next day complaining that your ears severely hurt.

I need to find that original photo where people keep putting ear plugs in their stocks, because everyone I saw in Iraq did not do that ****. So neither should airsofters, stupid trend setters.

Apparently some gas blowback rifles are being confiscated because they have the potential to be turned into real firearms!? ATF is very gay. So when it's in one shipment, I believe everything in that shipment is put on hold, and it usually takes FORRRRRRREVER.

How can they potentially be turned into real firearms? That's interesting...Those GBB´s are similarly constructed to RS firearms, in terms of the mechanism, unlike AEG´s afaik.
However, i seriously doubt one would so stupid enough to fire live ammo through an GBB/AEG.. the alloy wouldn´t withstand it and would blow a load of shards into your face..

(and the ak too, but too clean to be a kalashnikov!)

i heard from my dealer that its a temp hold on production from systema and they should be back to norm in the fall. I hope

I heard the same. A friend of mine, who run an airsoftshop, tell me that this "hold" is caused by financial problem...

I have 4 cylinders, I use the Black for night games so I don't hurt people from accidental close shots. The other cylinders are for day games and for particular fields that allow XXX FPS. My red is kinda weak right now though, a possible leak because it shoots 420 FPS.

My AK was very dirty from the last game I used it in, so that is the only reason why it is clean now, because I cleaned it. ;)

I had to because I got a ton of green face paint smeared all over the grip and foregrip, took forever to scrub it off.

Both are uber bastards. I don't see the point of investing high amounts of money into these toys (well they certainly cost a bit but not as much as some people, say PTW). So basically both have Dboys metal body, TM front ends, whatever cheap brand RIS, whatever cheap Ebay repro optics and Dboys mechbox.

They shoot straight and are reliable. That's all that count!

For those of you that live in Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire, I heard a rumor that someone is looking at turning the old Coca-Cola Plant on Rt. 28 in Salem into a possible CQB area. Then again, it is just a rumor. Hopefully it will come to be true.

sad part is that the Masada has been more reliable than the first set of PTW's I've owned lol, I'm pretty sure they weren't lemons though considering I got the Mil/LE line of PTW's. Then again..we all know how the Army buys stuff...

Meh I'm just one those "hey for the price of one PTW I can have 3 AEG" p-)

I'll give a few pros to the PTW, I've never handled any other airsoft that is that tight. Even my full metal ones are a little wobbly.

Trigger response (though I just learned LiPo could do the trick, thought they only gave insane ROF)

Operation: Want it or not hell they are realistic (hence the name perhaps LOL), and though I'm not usually one that jumps on the OMFG Realism bandwaggon , slapping the bolt catch when reloading is a nice touch

But hey gotta say I prefer yours in the stubby setup than 14.5"

I just use it because I hate maintenance on my guns. Some of the repairs I've spent on my other guns have gone way over the price of a PTW SCK (challenge kit) 850$. My G3s are the perps, and I basically haven't used them anymore even though they are fully repaired. Also for how many guns I have, my PTW was the last purchase I've ever made for a gun. So in terms, I don't need 3 more AEGs, they will end up not being used. I don't play airsoft so often, about a game a month, sometimes 2 per month.

Also as I see it, not every gun is Lipo ready... I watched one of my friends who used a pretty much stock weapon and it tore the piston to pieces. Hell I think you can get away with using a lipo with a Marui though. A lipo any day will beat a PTW in terms of ROF. But I'm not trying to belch out an insane 20-25 BPS like some guys I know. (Not on this board but who I play with) The more I think of it, a Lipo reminds me of a paintballer... rofl

I don't slap bolt catches, or forward assists... I don't use it for its realism, I've used it for its reliability so far. I play some milsim games, but I make it as non-milsim as I can get away with. I just like to play airsoft to have fun. I got more than a few friends going to OP: Irene this year and I flat out told them, have fun playing with some bag ass posers on the Ranger side. If I ever could muster paying 180-230 or whatever the price is for an airsoft game to attend that, I would RATHER be on the FF team (skinnys, or however they call them.)

Also last but not least, I really like the stubby set up, I am a smaller person (I hate being a chick) so having it short is a plus for me. Reg M4s aren't bad, but being the CQBR barrel is even better. ;)

Anyways no hard feelings, I think I was just a little irritated last night. The fact I wanted to get blasted, but I forgot I had work in the morning. Dumb Army, should of put in a leave slip. :fork:

Yes it is bigger than the reg M4 grip. I like it because it is more comfortable. I built my own, and I'll pretty much say the main ingredients you'll want in order to built the rifle is a soldering kit, gear grease, cylinder grease, and an armorers wrench (in order to put on the barrel). You won't need a a vice or anything, just hold it in your lap when you're doing it. Also I believe there is a complete SCK manual online that is official on how to put one together. Just google for it.

There are a couple different versions of the VLTOR bi-pod. You might be thinking of the one that mounts to the bottom (6 o'clock) rail.

I'd consider one for my A3 (which should arrive in a week or so...the waiting game is oh, so fun), but, due to the LaRue FUG, it won't be compatible. (And no, I won't swap out the FUG for a TangoDown. ;))

So I'll probably nab a Grippod. The A3 is like a civilian IAR, so it only makes sense, right? :-P

I rather buy that then spend more on sniper rifles that can't work for **** until you pump another 1-2 grand of work in them *cough* Barrett *cough* Even cheaper than some SAWs

Well buying a PTW and everything that comes with it pretty much like getting fist****ed with barbwire gloves... Lots of cheaper solutions. Hurray for Canadian retailers

Hell we pay JG/Echo1 like 5 times what you guys pay

You could make it green like the dutch commando's used to issue them.
Now they dont issue them green because the commando's always paint them an other color, like desert. So it would be stupid to waste paint on it. But for you, why not.

let me google an imagen of a green C8 for you.

this was the standart issue C8 carbine for the dutch army SF. All others just issued them black.

It's been awhile since I've airsoft'd, so I was thinking about buying a beater D-Boys or A&K M4 so I could attend a couple games this summer.

Instead of going that route, I've been thinking about using M4 parts that I have that refuse to sell to piece together a skirmish rifle. Using the parts that I have, this is what I've come up with.

http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd89/Victory0985/M468/M468Parts1.jpg

Technically, it's most like a M468 with a REC7 upper. (With the dredded magwell thing. I use it as a vertical foregrip.)

I'm in the process of purchasing a stock tube, mechbox, outer barrel, selector switch, and other parts.

I'm thinking about spraying a camouflage pattern on the metal body, stock, stock tube, and barrel with Krylon, as it is a skirmish/utility rifle.

Thoughts?

-Vic

P.S. I forgot to jam ear plugs into my stock's sling mount. Sorry Kap.

You don't like 'em? Due to the size or shape?

It has worked pretty well for me thus far.

I origionally bought it (second hand, got a good deal on it) for the IAR I was working on, as it's height is great for use with a bi-pod, as it acts as an...erm, third leg. Kinda' like a monopod, I suppose.

I'd like to eventually swap it out for a Magpul MOE, but I'm thinking it'll work pretty well for me for the time being.

Agreed, it's very nice. :)

When I paint my rifles, I usually stick with a maximum of two colors. Usually a FDE-like base color, and then some brown (stripes or whatever) over that. It can sometimes help break up the rifle's outline a little bit more (depending on your environment, of course), and it's simple enough for it to get scratched/rubbed off, and for me not to care about it much.

The Surefire helmet lights are good as a navigation lighting system.

I'd much rather use 3 white LEDs or 2 red LEDs than a 100+ lumen Surefire for navigation. I wouldn't want to blind myself or give away my position trying to unlock a door in close quarters.

And no, I don't see myself in the above situation anytime soon, as I don't play night games as much as I'd like to. The above would be my reasoning for mounting such a system to a rifle.

-Vic

P.S. I wouldn't mount it behind the BUIS as shown in the Military Morons picture, though. A lot of that light will shine on the BUIS, giving the enemy (if he so happens to spot you with your light activated) a nice target to aim at. That, and if you have to deploy the BUIS, you'll loose the ability to use the light. That's my two cents.

The above would be my reasoning for mounting such a system to a rifle.

i agree it would be better for navigation. i'm just curious as to why you would choose to put it on your rifle when it would serve better on your helmet, hat, or chest...

no flaming intended here, by the way. just conversation.

No offense taken:).

Better off on rifle than chest(In my opinion.). Helmet is probably the best option, but I look more H1SP33D D3L74SASOMFGKSKSp3tsn4ztacticool this way. :)

Then I'd say you're good to go.

What kind of setup do you use that rifle for? CQB or is it just a general-purpose weapon that's good for most game types?

hjs032570

Current setup is for CQB. I have an extra longer hop up unit with a Prometheus tight bore barrell and outer barrell adaptor for the longer types of engagements. With the longer outer barrel I run a Troy muzzle brake flashhider.

http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb37/hjs032570/vltorm4front.jpg

The top pics show the longer inner barrel and outer barrel adapter and muzzle brake.

I like the current setup now because the replica scout light is better than the replica M962 light and the scout light is much lighter than the M962 light.

Update pics include the Magpul ASAP adaptor, and Sling adaptor on the RAS because the built in adaptors are not truly functional.

I tried the helmet light on the RAS one day and did not like how it reduced my FOV at first, but it looked hella cool with the blue lights and the laser on.

Thanks for the feedback.

(Pic Edited Out To Save Space)

Technically, it's most like a M468 with a REC7 upper. (With the dredded magwell thing. I use it as a vertical foregrip.)

I'm in the process of purchasing a stock tube, mechbox, outer barrel, selector switch, and other parts.

I'm thinking about spraying a camouflage pattern on the metal body, stock, stock tube, and barrel with Krylon, as it is a skirmish/utility rifle.

Update:

http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/5877/partsgun1.jpg

Now with added PEQ-15! (+25,000 Tactical Points)

The stock tube and barrel arrived. I thought sure that the King Arms barrel would be 14mm-...turns out, it's 14mm+, so I'm limited, in that I won't be able to use the 14.5" barrel extension or the mock suppressor I have lying around. :cantbeli: I'll eventually swap it out for a 14mm- outer barrel.

Instead of painting, I decided to use a tan Guarder upper on the M468 lower. I'm not sure of the final result...half of me likes it. The other half is, well, unsure. I also have the option of swapping the black Duostock for a tan one. I'm unsure on that one, as well.

Still need: Internals, Inner Barrel, Selector Switch, Trigger Guard Pin (Which will be a PITA to find.)

i say make the upper and lower match(preferably make both Black) plus go with the tan stock.

Uhhhhh, you're a dork... There are adapters in this world now that make barrel ends either 14mm+ to 14mm- or 14mm- to 14mm+. It only adds about a half inch to the barrel, I use one on my PTW (14mm+ to a 14mm-) So I can use a wider variety of flash hiders and tracer units.

Yep, I used to have one. (14mm- to 14mm+, though.)

They're $15.00 plus shipping (about $7.00) from Evike. Its cheaper to buy a second hand outer barrel. :)

And about the upper, yeah, I'll probably swap it out for the black one.

BAMF rifle, Vic! Looks like something from Ghost Recon or CoD4. Regardless it looks neat all the same.

Any other modifications planned?

I had parts in mind, so I really started from scratch. I bought a complete Systema gearbox and built the AEG from parts I wanted. I actually bought the gearbox a long time ago. I had a old TM M4 RIS that I had and broke. From that AEG I learned how to build AEGs. I was going to put it in the M4 when it broke. The only thing I am not 100% sure about is complete gearbox builds, so that was why I just bought a Systema gearbox. I finally decided to do the build when I started to see the Daniel Defense 9.5 Lite Rail Replica on some websites. I really liked the look of the Noveske flash hider, the Vltor flip up sight and the Daniel Defense RAS. Trevor from Airsoft Canada had a Systema build like this and my build is based of his build. Here is the link.
http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=63995&highlight=trevor
As you can see I gave Trevor credit for the build and made sure he was okay with me biting off of his. Trevor did say he got his idea from other builds. The Vltor receiver was a no brainer. From there it was a matter of tweaking the other parts. This was a REALLY easy build!!
