Nothing speciel to it, base layer is krylon mid brown, scatter some branches and twigs, spray patches with krylon brown. move the branches/twigs about, spray some mid brown, move, spray some brown, and on and on. All to do with layering colours. Could throw in a third or fourth colour too.

I'm looking at the upgraded Army R85 for sale on Evike...would it be a decent buy or would I be further ahead to spend $160 more for a G&G or ICS that I know will be good?

Also, what kind of performance does the stock R85 offer, and would it be alright on its own, or should I upgrade?

No idea to be honest, I've yet to fire it in anger. Bought it pre-upgraded. Seems to cycle well. Blow back is a neat touch but does kill the ROF, bolt can be locked back, or the mech taken out to stop the blowback.

Got parts in so i updated the look a bit. Had to Dremel the Handgaurd in order for the gas tube rail to fit. I think it came out very well, clean look thats not tacticool.

Ah, thank you. Im just gonna leave it like that, maybe get a 552 and slap it on there. And yes, thats CB 550 cord on the stock and also on mags. I have a spare Gearbox so i might have another project on my hands if the finances allow it to happen, maybe an AK74u.

its a normal birdcage, what you're seeing is a Diemaco SFW 16" HBAR barrel. British designation for the C8 SFW is the L119A1. Nice to see them about, I'll be able to post pics of my 119A1 project at the end of the week hopefully.

Cool. You might wanna check the bolt catch, and the o-rings on the mags. At least that's how some of the AGM's on my mates broke.

What I ment to say was, the Rails, are pretty far up the rifle (when you buy it, not that you placed it wrong or anything). So if you place a scope on the rail, its far up front and not really usfull unless its an aim pointer.
Witch isn't that usfull on a semi auto rifle.
I want to have a scope mounth witch is placed next to the ejector port so the scope is in a better place.
But I still need to bu a good scope also... so yeah..

Your planing to ad it right? any Id witch is the best buy for a M-14?

I know what you mean, i just use that scope on the SAW, because sometimes when teams are oddly mixed, it aids me in easier identification of people. helps alot too as more of a monocular, and its more accurate than my acog is on the SAW. oh and does anyone know where i can find a rail mount for the m60, or atleast an example of someone else whos fabricated one?

I asked earlier if STAR PMags would fit into the magwell of a CA416.

Thing is I have 14 STAR PMags and I don't want to purchase an AEG knowing that most of my AR mags don't work on them. I have heard a lot of people experiencing problems with STAR PMags. Personally, they're fine. The only modification I made is applied two strips of duct tape to the back of the PMags to get them to feed properly.

I'm wondering if a CA M15 lower would be compatible with CA416 upper? In theory, they should but I don't have a 416 upper to experiment with.

Answer: STAR PMags probably won't fit CA416 magwell because it fits the CA M15 magwell fairly tightly. I'm still wondering if it's possible for a CA M15 lower to fit with CA416 upper.

Finally gave one of my AEGs some magpul love. I have a King Arms FDE PEQ15 box and battery on the way for it. Thinking I might try out that Magpul AFG. I also need the Madbul RIS fix to bridge the gap between the front rail and the upper. Its got alot of movement right now and that would solve the issue. I will most likely use it to raise the red dot as well. I have a feeling the PEQ15 will be blocking a good part of the red dots field of view. I don't want to mount the box on the side, it has to be on the top of the rail. I love the two tone XTM panels and don't want to loose any on the side for the box.

Until I get the PEQ15 and battery it has no choice but to sit here and look cool. :D I can't wait to field it with the new furniture.

Thanks, and yes i did it myself... but... there's really nothing special about it, it's just three colors of krylon sprayed in green-tan-brown-repeat pattern, with no stencils or anything :)

Personally I thought it was kinda lame, but for some reason people praise it, LOL :)

Some at www.works11.pl (Beryl/Tantal gas tube, upper handguard etc) and some at www.allegro.pl (stock, rail, flash hider etc) and custom machined some more (longer barrel). It's nowhere near as good as some others out there (my stock doesn't really sit inside the receiver as it should and the rail is just bolted to the cover rather than sitting in proper mounts (which should be the rear sight base and a pin on the stock tang). It's just the nature of the aluminum receiver I had. One of those new all-steel AKs would have made a far better base for a more accurate replica, but getting those into Canada is much more risky :(

really really nice, compared to my old CA's. this is my first gun with ABS so i can't compare it with anything but it's a nice feature. It shoots give or take about 350 fps, which is good enough for most of what it do airsofting. I really like how CA has progressed in the quality of guns.

Been away awhile but this has been my go to gun for the last couple months. 09 Systema Max with a reworked motor done by a guy in the UK, Real steel upper milled to fit, real steel Larue 11.0 gooseneck rail, cqbr barrel, Empire Airsofts Billet CNC lower with colt trades, Magpul trigger guard, MBUS, rail covers, Viking Tactics light mount with a Surefire G2, custom modded real steal Pmags, real steel Daniel Defence low pro gas block, Tango Down mini vert grip, MI rear sling mount, and lastly an AMP aimpoint. Since these pics I have swapped to a CA vortex replica flash hider since Im not supper fond of the G&P Noveske replica

Can you tell me how you managed to mod the PMAG's to a PTW-Airsoft mag?

Lol well its not my best job I used a SOG multitools wood saw<beer was involved lol. But the newer ones I used a dremil. Basicly lay a PTW mag shell on the PMAG and sharpie cut lines. Hardest part was getting the holes for the 2 pins that keep the inereds in. Ill take some pics when I get home and show what they look like. If ya want.

Real issue I had with the build was the Larue rail. I had to liquid metel it in place, the ring on the otter barrel combined with the real steel upper made the gas tube holes not line up right. According to Systema they made the threads on there upper shorter so when the barrels on its real steal size so when you put the barrel on a real steel upper it makes it to long. ****ers but since I liquid meteled it thing is a tank. I dont plan on swapping anything and even if I did I would just build another upper for it.

I'm curious how you did that, and how it looks!!

At the moment I'm also rebuilding my AEG M4, it's not a PTW, still saving money for that, or a Inokatsu M4 GBB,
But I also have the Real-steel 11.0 Gooseneck on it.
On the moment I'm waiting to receive a 12 inch outer barrel, gas block, gas tube en MBUS.

In about a few day's I'll post a photo when it's done ! ;)
