CAm15a4 rails and some other shiat!
SP120 spring and thats all it needs to shoot a little under 400fps because the internals are reinforced. Hope you like, it's loaded very (basic) infantry but it gets the job done!

It is the QD part of a silencer (planning to fix that with a normal flash hider).
I took the damn thing off for what ever reason at a game, and lost the ****er. I have one in the mail.

Unless he painted it, the G&G comes with a wood or black stock, whereas the TM comes green or wood.
IMO the all black m14 isnt as "sexy" as the painted. The wood stock looks traditional, the green looks more modern....painted looks like it is in theatre and going to war! (and if done right doesnt look like a sore thumb...or a big black stick in the woods)

A Tokyo Marui M4 was the base, I didn't even bother with a metal body. The G&P CQB Front end is garbage, soon to be replaced by Dhindo's LMT frontend. The light is a Surefire M4 on a single Leupold QRW ring, and the scope is an IOR Valdada M2 4x24 (CQB Reticle) on IOR High QD Rings

01-10-2006, 09:23 PM
Just few things felix:
- paint the new sh_it up with the rest - if you bother camouflaging your weapon at least do it on the whole, otherwise its somewhat pointless
- just spray it all lightly with some flat Krylon that paintjob is damn shiny, at least on your photo the camera flash reflects. Umpossible!
- I'd use some contrasting flat brown or OG to break the gun contour vertically - paintjob looks half done, with only pale base coating painted
- Get some other-than-black sling for that matter, or just paint it. Carrying a well-camoed gun on a perfectly black sling is, well... self-defeating?
Kartoon
01-11-2006, 04:16 AM
I find it looks awesome with the acog, the AN/PEQ and the silencer left unpainted. The paint might be useless while those remain black but at least it looks good.

First: Im not gonna spray the silencer or the anpeq box. The acog will get some paint soon. Im copying a rifle that i saw a green beret with with some minor adjustments.
Second and third: I use bowflage, not krylon. The color is not glossy at all its matt. And the way we paint our guns here in norway, is that we dont spend 2 hours doing it. The paintjob was done in one minute. I like it when the paint looks just dashed on with no schemes or patterns. It looks more authentic than all those uber detailed airbrushed things.
Fourth: No i wont get another sling, this is the color of that particulear sling in use. Look at pics in iraq mate most of them have black slings.
Other than that, Thanks for your comments :)

Ok, although the whole idea of "copying" is somewhat strange to me I see the point. Tools, guns among them should suit the user practical needs first place. But I understand.

Fully agreed, we do the same thing here, no stencils, just quick but reasonable spraying. Same with painting the Real Steel. Thing I mentioned is the visible gloss on your photo - on forward assist, on 203 etc. Other remark was about the colours - but just get something matching your environment.
Fourth: No i wont get another sling, this is the color of that particulear sling in use. Look at pics in iraq mate most of them have black slings.
So I pity them for the reasons mentioned above. I'm a user not watcher of others rifles. If they were'nt bothered to get colour/paint their slings - it's their problem not mine. Anyway - if you're using something, and are not forced to use things issued, use the best you can get.
But of course, do as you please.

So here's my gun painted, the scope and the bipods left out of the picture, cuz I painted them separately.
I was planning on adding some brown to it, but the can malfunctioned, nothing came out. So I will be adding that later, it will make the paintjob fit the finnish woods a bit better.

Question, do TM mags fit into CA M4's? I'm trying to sell my TM M4 and get a CA. Just want to know if i can hang onto my mags in the process. I have a few TM mags and one G&P 180 round mag.
Also i know this question has been asked 100 times before, but....CA or ICS, im having trouble deciding, i mean do both perform equally and im sure both have their ups and downs.
Yes they do. As do STAR mags.
I've had one ICS MP5. Sucked so much balls that I decided I'd never speak the company's name ever again.
Dunno 'bout their M4's.
My CA M4 has been through alot. Been submerged a few hundred times, and it still worked, until I dissassembled it completely. Buy the CA.

I think I'll have to bury my intentions of painting my new capa 4.3, after all as it's a pistol it wont need any concealment for it's small size and the paint would be for esthetic value only, and if I'm not satisfied with the paintjob It'll be a bit more tricky to remove the paint from a GBB. It's fine black.

I own an ICS M4 (Tenda owns one as well, I believe). I've yet to have any problems with it. Mags are a loose fit, but it's nothing a little duct tape inside the magwell won't fix. I like the split mechbox design. Easier to mess with for upgrades.

Jup, and it has a cool switch you can place on your gun to turn it on.. and i thought there also was an IR beam on it... but most PEQ's in airsoft are used to hide the battery!
Death.
01-14-2006, 12:25 PM
I think the real AN/PEQ-2 has an Infrared laser and a red laser (IR can be seen only in NVG's, mostly used for ground troops to target something for air support to blow up)
The airsoft version holds a battery, but the ICS PEQ-2 can hold a laser, and a battery :O

There's no problem using CA mags in a TM or the other way around. Grab a CA, the new production line is outstanding!
x2, I also own a classic army for about 2 years now and I haven't had any problems with it. The internals it brings is enough to upgrade to a sp120(guarder) with out up grading the gears, shims or piston. The internals are a copy of TM gears, Guarder gears, and piston. I do suggest if you get the CA line, that if you upgrade it change the spring guide to one with bearings(spelling?) and change your piston head with one also with bearings. Because that will minimize sideways tension on your mechbox..

I have an ICS m4, and have never had any problems with it and its easy to upgrade. don't know how good the classic army is i've never owned one before. i'll post pictures of my gun when i get my camera back.
AN-PEQ2 has a IR laser an illuminator. Basically you use it so when your are wearing NVGs, you can still aim your weapon(since its quite hard to look through sights when wearing NVGs). Line up the green beam with your target, an fire. Or you can use the IR beam/laser to point things out to your troops, etc.

The lasers work both ways on PAQ/PEQ's, though. Just like tracers.
(As in, you can point the bad dude out, but he can see your ass, too)
I like how the ICS M16 magazines are actual size. Thing is, since they are the same size as an actual M16 mag, they stick out further below the rifle than it actually would, since it doesn't lock up as high in the gun as a real one would. Hence the strange, 40rd AR15 magazine look.
Guess they kinda missed that part. Oops.

I found airsoftgi to have cheaper CA's than airsoftextreme and evike, airsplat has the same price as airsoftgi.com, 304.99 but airsplat says free shipping, but when i add it to cart than goto check out it charges shipping...
Looking on arniesairsofts review of the CA, it says some external pieces might be hard to mount as opposed to the TM. I have a mosquito molds RIS that i want to put on the CA will it fit? I imagine it would because the barrel length is the same from where it joins at the body to the front sight right?

I dunno about the MM RIS stuff, but I was half-pissed off when I got my CA M15A4 RIS. The top rail on the fore-end RIS does not line up with the rail atop the reciever, which is just plain retarded.
Other than that, it kicks ass for an airsoft gun.

Despite being an anti-"impression" (looking like a real unit), and anti-trendy-looking guy, I still like the weathered look. I painted my mags once, then had them dragged on a gravelly road to make them look weathered. That worked out fine. Still trying to figure out what to do with my SPR to make the new paint look beat up and ****.
What comes to gear I like to purposefully make my gear look old and worn out, and I don't own a single BDU that I had bought new, they're always been second hand from a friend or from e-bay, just for the looks. Why not for the price too :)

Want to have it look worn-out? Lemme take it on a walk through the desert and mountains. 40 something miles later you'll have a fantastically beat-down looking weapon!
In all reality, if you want an easy way to make new BDU's look old, go to a forest or any place with lots of hard objects and dirt, roll around, do lots of PT, crawl alot, get them muddy as hell, and then wash them. Rinse and repeat a few times. It works.

Good way to make metal stuff look weathered:
lightly sand down protrudging edges (corners of receiver, T handle, forward assist, mag well, etc), also sand the edge of the barrel and the front site, or whatever else you want..(make sure you only sand the paint off, don't sand into any of the body parts)
Good way to make TM recievers look metal:
Souske's foil tape method on www.airsoftretreat.com
You can also use the metal wire sponges and scrape them on gun bodies to make them look all D3lt4

I actually was intending to use a rough towel or something like that to do that, sandpaper or a wire sponge could make it look scratchy, not worn out I think. I'll give that towel a try and let you know how it turned out.

Makes a compact weapon into a big stick.
Well, that's a no brainer.
It's a forever lasting trend among the known cultures of homo erectus that if you get a short one, you will try anything to make it as big and impressive as possible. And it also works the other way too: If you get a huge one you might(unless you don't) want to make it a little more compact so it will fit in places no-one's ever been b4 and it will also be easier to "handle".
No, but seriously, isn't it the point in "compact" guns that they're compact and vice versa.
Death.

When you hold it it's HEAVY! And BIG! On the gun, it doesn't look so big. At day, the flashlight looks like a 20 lumens or less, but at night... It rules! A little more light than my 120 lumens SureFire.
It operates very smooth and is extremely solid, I'll write a small review soon... ;-)

the aimpoint is of a make called Pentagon, don't know much about it. but it works fine, as the rifle is supose to be 93 dated i ddin't think a M3 aimpoint would fit in that well, this look older.
the silencer is king arms for M4, but as i had a M733 with a shoter barral, i had to customize it..

I added a slither stock and a carry handle, and also spent two hours shaving the paint off of the bolt with a damn knife. I didn't have any sand paper or anything else easier to do it with handy. hell yeah.
Internally, I have not done anything with it yet, but I am getting it upgraded next weekend, replacing most all gearbox parts. Also, a Prime crane stock is on it's way. I am also planning on adding An EOtech and Coyote Brown Magpul rail covers in the future.. Oh yeah.. And a metal body and one piece barrel..

Gungreak, I have the very same gun. I wish the had the M16A1 back in stock. I may turn my choice to the A2 until they get the A1 back. you never have enough AR-15 !
Ahh I broke two of my four armalites yesterday. It's good to see your guns. The G&P broke its piston, and I don't know what's happening with the ICS. Every thing moves normaly with hand but not all together. It's "hard" for the motor and he will stop before the end of the cycle.
Good note : I bought an M16A1 body for my XM-177 (with AR-15 body).
