"im not fighting for justice, im not fighting for freedom..." im not sure about that dude. you wouldnt catch me at one of those goddamn walks for "bring our troops home" because half of those people don't give a damn about the troops, they are just hijacking the cause to attack President Bush. You got a bunch of Vietnam vets that felt abandonned by their country (and they were in many cases) who feel disenfranchised and think that the same thing will happen to these troopers. it won't.
and about the body counts not being publicized?!?! i can't watch the news without hearing about Marines or Soldiers dying.

i agree with them about the consequinces of war, completely
But what i dont agree with is, that they dont look at what they do from an economical point of view. because this is a job, you go in do you work, get paid, go home. And if you can t deal with stress in your work invironment, maybe you shouldnt apply for job in the 1st place.
it's a job, and you are expected to do your job well.
Thier problem is : they think. well dont think, kill a guy and move on with our life.

Lets just say I did my share, and I don’t have any regrets about what I did.
This is America, it was founded on money and it will always be about the money. That's all it is, it's just money. You do your job. you get paid. Simple. And if you got things to think about, then you can think about them when your old sitting on the porch drinking your milk.

Good post but patriotism and doing ones duty plays a big role in many soldiers (including mine) decisions. Subtract the milk and add Wild Turkey though.

The difference between those two is dependence, if your whole life you depended on somebody else whether it was your parents, your girlfriend that's where it's going to break you. You get all emotional and mushy once you see your buddy get killed, or injured or whatever.
When I served, to tell you the truth I kept everybody at an acquaintance level. Never got too far, never got too close. So I guess that's what kept me from, thinking and focus on my job and money p-) .

Sounds like Air Force mentality. Ultra professional, little emotion, almost corporate. When I worked at the airport before college most of the line men and mechanics were ex-air force and all operated like this. I personally like to be close with buddies in my squad and platoon; I think it makes me a better leader.

I suggest you read David McCullough's biography on John Adams if you're interested in what the USA was "founded on". It might be about money today, but it wasn't always so.
Interesting, thoughtful video, which I think is very respectful of the troops.

This was a very sad video. The worst si that it is just the way it is. When your out and served your purpose, you get dropped like a hot potatoe.
Bad Karma, hope you never get to experience what is going on right now as we speak. You will be surprised when the truth is revealed to you the hard way. :(
I saw a report the other day on one of the news shows like Nightline or Dateline, and they were talking about this subject, of what happens to soldiers when they get home. It was said that more money and energy is going into dealing with returning soldiers than ever before. They recognize the problems that happened to Vietnam vets and were determined to not let that happen again. I'm all for supporting them in that way and the goal of the video. It's unfortunate that as usual, they have some people speaking in it that are the usual idiots such as "The army lied to me" when these soldiers found out they'd have to shoot people. With the constant shows that depict this exact topic on the news shows, (I must have seen at least 10 Nightline episodes that cover injuries and recovery) if you're not aware of what's happening to the troops, then you don't want to know. Movies like this aren't going to change that.

He's absolutely right! I went to school with those nutcases at Umich for four years. These anti-war protestors are some of the oddest bunch of people I've ever witnessed in my life. Most of them, the hardcore ones, are spoiled brats. A lot of them are the biggest hypocrites I've ever met. They pretend to care for troops and peace, yet you'll find, if you live anywhere that's highly liberal, that most of the residents are SNOBS! Not to mention, they couldn't care less for anyone who doesn't have a love for indy movies, poetry, the fine arts or pretentious philosophy. Put plainly, I honestly think they are as bad or worse than the Republicans they hate.
I'm a moderate who likes some Republican ideas and some Democrat ideas. I'm not a fan of some of the more backwards idiots you find on the Republican side, but I just don't feel a lot of the liberals that make up the Democrats do a lot to make things better. In fact, many of them make it WORSE! But I doubt most Americans are lunatics that belong to either of the two sides. Most are moderates, but somehow only the lunatics are nominated for the presidency *cough* John Kerry *cough*!

Good vid, but as Hood said: they should've dropped the odd morons. Seriously, with Somalia, Bosnia & Kosovo, GW1, Panama and Grenada in mind, how can anyone think that they can join the army and think that they will spend it shooting guns at the rifle range, jogging around the garrison and hanging out with your buddies?...
