I was wondering what the SEALS will wear after the woodland BDU is considered officially obsolete. Im sure that they wont be wearing the army's ACU. Also pretty sure they wont wear the Marine cammies since the rivalry between the USMC and the Navy (yes i know they are in the same department). Anyways what's your take on it?

Just a guess, but they might use MultiCam.

In combat they will most likely continue to use woodland and tri-color desert. The new digital blue Navy pattern replaces several work and utility uniforms for naval personel, but not the field combat uniform.
Either that or the next most likely choice might be MARPAT patterns...

Depends on what you mean.
Field cammies are pretty much open, unless there's going to be outside attention.
To answer your question, who knows? Whatever the Navy issues for use.

I heard that uniforms their will become obsolite, and they'll just start going **** and painting camo onto their bodies..glueing additional items on for different enviroments (ie: sand, twigs, mud). Soon to become a walking forest/desert

NSW is investigating the possiblity of enlisting tattoo artists for that very purpose. Although the problem does exsist when entering other AOs. ;)

I love the way multi cam looks....It seems to me SEALs can probably use whatever they want, as long as it works :p....so that means NO pink jumpsuits matchanu :P

OMFG this is a joke right? Why dont they just use digital woodland or digital desert? The greys in the Desert pattern would blend perfectly with the ships paint scheme.

Nice where ever did you get the Multi-cam?

I would think that it would be something already issued, not something like Multicam. I would bet MARPAT, only because the ACU pattern was designed for all enviroments, and since SEALs mostly operate from behind the lines in safe areas, a uniform that would better fit a mores pecific area (Arid/Woodland MARPAT patters) for the shorter operations would be of benefit.

If you fall overboard. Do you really want to be wearing blue/gray camo?

Im guessing they will eithern use a derivative of the MARPAT pattern, or switch to plain flat black uniforms...
Personally, im a big fan of plain black.

It looks okay but is probably not of use to commandos who go on land. The guys on ships will be fine I guess. I'm guessing the seals with either stick with the current patterns, adopt MARPAT or ACU or maybe go with that revised tigerstripe one (the desert version looks good).
While I like the ACU (saw a Gen. Jackman wearing it on ABC last nite and while a little light, the colours are very brown and earthy) the Cryecam certainly looks like it works better from all the pics I've seen. Of course I haven't actually seen the ACU tested against different environments yet.

I doubt anyone would get close enough for it to matter.

If you fall overboard. Do you really want to be wearing blue/gray camo? it wouldnt matter, because if you fell off of a large vessel you'd be in a world of **** as you'd be fidh food in minutes from the prop

No, black would be a bad idea my friend. One of the biggest reasons why there have been so many camo pattern changes lately is because there is no need for black in the real world. That's why Multicam is so successful-- one of the things it accomplishes is it uses a variation of different colors that reflect light in a way to blend in with shadows WITHOUT using black. Black is not a common color out in the woods/desert, etc.

i think everybody should be using Multicam.. it works best in all environs... but, consider that there are already MARPATs with Navy insignia on em for corpsmen......

But I heard about the Multicam is designed for Army, is that true? If it is true, I don't think the SEALs will use them. Also I don't think they will not just us MARPATs because they are Marine's...
Multicam was designed and submitted for the army camo tests, but not picked..they went with the ACU 2 tone digi cam instead...

Which is BS, from the tests militarymoron did, it seemed to be Multicam blended a lot better than the ACU..
