Congrats dude!
By the way, what is ROTC's equivalent of NROTC's "Mini BUD/S". Mini BUD/S is the most difficult summer course a Midshipman can get into. USNA alone give 30 slots to those who are in their Junior year, while NROTC has only 30 to give for every NROTC progam in the country!

Before you report in get jump wings tattooed on you right arm.
Be sure to tell the blackhats that you are ROTC and want extra time on the SLT.
Remember to go commando for week two.

Probably, mountain warfare, or northern warfare school. not too many slots for those. most cadets go to Airborne and/or Air Assault. ive heard of cadets going to Scuba school and a couple other rare ones.

Im working on getting a slot now, but my Cadre are making me do all of the work, can anybody help me out by finding some extra info. I am already SCUBA certified with plenty of dives under my belt, swimmer for my entire life, and my GPA and PT are great, but what do i need to do to lobby for a slot and apply??? any help at all??

Anyone know how a foreigner can get slotted on a course? I know a few guys who simply drove down and showed up, asked if they could be on the manifest and voila!

Being SCUBA qaulified doesn't really help from what I understand. The main thing is the pre-SCUBA req. I forget how long pre-SCUBA lasts, but its between 7 and 10 days. I think that pre-req is good for up to one year, but don't quote me on it. You might want to look at the JFK Special Warfare Center, since they run the course. One of the SF guys around here may be able to help you find a contact number there. If all else fails, look it up on AKO.

What does MS II, III, etc stand for?
crazyman
01-21-2005, 11:00 AM
I: freshman, III: junior, and so on. I's and II's are in what we call the basic course...not very stressfull, learning the ropes. III is all prep for ft lewis, lots of evaluations, oporder training, FM 7-8. IV (senior) year is when rotc puts you to work training the I's II's and III's. assuming you finish college, at the end of your IV year you should get commissioned.
by the way im in the 11 march airborne class, so if ya have any questions NCDeuce, jes ask starting around 5 april.

I knew a bloke who got a skippy badge tattooed on him at Singo. His first two postings were to 49RQR and 16RWAR, by the time he got to a RAR Battalion he had lost the desire and got out as soon as he could.
