The IDF snipers are amongst the best trained in the world (sure, they could practice live trainings every day...) and any Western nation will benefit from their field experience. The Bundeswehr too. If you refer to the past, just shame on you :bash:

heyyyy dont be so harsh on him.. i think he ment in a nice way..

and about women instructors in idf.. yeah theres many of them as sniping instructors (no wonder why many israeli want to be snipers lol)
but they are not as experianced as a male instructor that had a real sniping experiance.. but never the less they are hard working soldiers..and sexy ones ;)

having said that, last year i met some isreali naval guys at an east coast training facilty and these guys could definately shoot. they were shooting .308 on a notoriously unforgiving range and getting impressive results. but maybe it's because these guys train over here in the us.
perhaps some of our fellow forumites from isreal can comment about the change in the curriculum and the shift to higher requirements at the idf sniper schools.

The idf recognised their problems in the late 90's and has gradually worked on it and has indeed shown impassive results be it from training or from actual combat that the idf has been in for the past three years.

(Just curious, your reference to “mitkan adam” (which I have trained in) and “balish” are from isayeret.com???

also curious how did you meet those Israelis??)

p.s. in reference to the Israelis coming to the U.S., well the U.S. soldiers comes to Israel as well so we can argue as to who is really learning and training from whom ;) :D

They are mostly in support units and roles

In combat roles, you can find women in some roles as trainers or instructors and now in “back line” infantry roles (like some military police units or some border units).

There are no women in front line infantry units or roles.(and that defiantly extends to special forces as well)

Now there is just recently a women pilot but that is very recent and new.

While there have always been some African Jews in Israel, the largest immigration came in 1991. with the Jews of Ethiopia facing genocide if they stayed, Israel mounted "Operation Solomon" (a joint venture of the IAF and El Al, the Israeli airline). I'm unaware of significant populations of Asian Jews, though I could be wrong.

my father born in israel but his mother from germany and his father from poland

and my mother born in israel too but her mother is half polish half egyet
and my mother father is half russian half argentina...

so you can be many things...

There is two types of jews. Ashkenazi and Safardic. Ashkenazi jews are from Europe e.g. Poland, Romania, Germany. And Safardic Jews are from North Africa and the middle east e.g. Morocco, Yemen, Tunisia, Ethiopia.
