Wierd day,
So we go to a certain place to do a certain mission....I took over a diffirent squad today while the original squad leader is training Iraqi soldiers for 3 months..my first day with 2nd squad...we stop and dismount and start searching houses in this neighborhood..I stoped the vehicle at the end of a road, just a bunch of cows and trash in front of it....5 minuites after we got out of the stryker I hear a loud explosion...someone set off an IED on my vehicle and blew the tire and hub off, my VC and Driver have mild concusions..the crazy thing is if they had been watching us dismount there they could have blown us all up....on a lighter note things are going , We go through boots like crazy here..so I hope the ones coming will last. There is no sewer system in Iraq..they dont bielive in it or something, so raw sewage is something we step in often..that eats through boots really fast.
contact in our AO is still pretty constant..we'll see what this week brings us
