I am working on a 64 Norton Dominator. I will take an old British bike over anything Japan or Italy ever put out.

Just a reminder that Italy makes bikes OTHER than Ducati, like:

Aprilia

Moto Guzzi

Deuterium, are you calling an Aprilia Mille slow?!

Just stirring the pot ma man. Funny Colin Edwards didn't even get close to a podium this year...You make the call.

Is that 996 decked out in 3rd Grp colors? One of these days I'll have to dust off my old 60 BSA Super Rocket.

I'm not disputing that their MotoGP bike is cr*p. Tons of power but lightswitch delivery doesn't let the rider use it. But Aprilia's V-twins are pretty righteous, according to everything I've heard.

That said, if Valentino Rossi rode the Aprilia Cube, it'd win every time. I swear that guy is not human. He's a Terminator from the future or something. Did you see the Australian GP? A twelve-second lead on Capirossi? Dear God.

thks to all!

i actually ride a sv650s...waiting for a ducati :)

if we don't consider the motogp, i wouldn't say that aprilia is a slow bike, it's an excelent bike, even better, if possible, than ducati. this because the rsv1000 is very easy to drive, compared to ducati that requires more experience and ability!

i've seen the moto guzzi MGS-1, and it's really nice!

...italy is not only this, but also mv ("Master" TAMBURINI strikes back) laverda, mondial and benelli!
the main problem of italian bikes (except aprilia) is.......the price!

The Suzuki's a great bike, and while I wouldn't go for the Duc myself, I understand where you're coming from ;)

Just for the record, the Benelli Tornado (in green and silver especially) is the most beautiful motor vehicle I have ever laid my eyes upon. I mean that. It's just a work of art. No matter how many times I look at it, it never gets old. Trick is, even if I sold my kidneys I wouldn't have the $30,000 to get one ;)

yes, i'm having a lot lf fun with the sv, really nice engine... but the front fork is really terrible. my fork is modified (oil, spring and spring load registers) and now it works really well.
actually i'm waiting for a racing exhaust (www.gpr.it) and 2 pirelli diablo, instead of my actual (and punctured :( ) michelin pilot sport (i don't like them).
on slow roads (mountain, hills with lot of turns of 2nd and 3rd) i'm quick as or even quicker then 600-4 and 900-4 (this ones only 'cause they are not able to ride such a bike).

but you don't need it!!! there's also a version for only 17.000 euro! :D

Seoulstriker.....do you ride?

I ride every day and I suspect if you ever get the chance for some saddle time on Ducatis and Aprilias, you'll change your mind....it's not about being on the prettiest bike(Ducati)....it's only about getting there first(Aprilia).

I think the SV650 is pound for pound about the nicest bike out there....I've spent a LOT of time riding an SV650 and I'm probably faster on that than on most other bikes.....I always felt I could ride the balls off the thing without fear....as opposed to always being near death on the big litre class bikes........

I hope you enjoy your upcoming Ducati...but I bet you'll never forget the SV650.

Dueterium:

Down here them's fightin' words!

But seriously....as I'm sure you know...it's 99% rider, 1% bike anyway......

It's not my fault you're jealous your 996 doesn't come stock Ohlins like my Aprilias....

Stirring the pot Deuterium?

I'd say you pissed right in it.......ummm, yeah...we don't like to talk about MotoGP at the moment......except 250cc.....the Aprilia RS250 is street legal down here.......talk about fun to ride
