I'm trying to find out info on good jumpable rucks, packs or bergans...
We're still using the Alice ruck, because we've had problems with jumping the Molle (although we are jumping the Molle II Assault Ruck, the London Bridge Radio/Medic Rucks, and we're starting to integrate the new PDB)
I've got a buddy in the USMC who was just issued a new ruck made by Arcteryx...he likes it better than the Vector ruck. I don't think that this is jumpable though...
Anyone on jump status who has any advice for good rucks?
The Alice is tried and true, but it's just too uncomfortable and small once you throw on IBA.

well up here in Canada the standard is the old 64 pattern rucksack. it's identical to what you guys used in vietnam pretty much, just the waist pad and the shoulder pads are different, that's about it.
I personally love jumping with that frame. it's pretty sturdy, you can stuffa lot in it if you know how to do it, and is relativley easy to acquire all the parts you need up here in Canada.
wether or not you'd be allowed to use it I have no idea.

The Lowe Salient is used by many French paratroopers.

We were issued those 63...the aluminum frame had a propensity to break too easily (especially on jumps)...the old mountain ruck remained the popular in SF (outside of Nam) because it was sturdy and packed the load better...Old dependable friends are hard to toss aside :)

The Eagle Industries Becker Patrol Pack-RTO and the A-III are also jump capable.

Appreciate the info...
I'll look into the Lowes...
We need a good internal frame ruck that is static line jumpable...
BTW, which Austrian unit is that in the rigged up photo?
I had a friend go to an MP Peacekeeping course there last year...enjoyed it immensely.
