I added a Israel/Palestine album as there's obviously ongoing conflict there. I realize it's a very touchy subject so I'll try to show both sides without showing anything distasteful, as we've held to for the other albums as well.

Regular rank and file soldiers deserve recognition too. I try to show whatever's available. That's a good site though. So does anyone know why the snipers have those weird bag like hats? I assume it's to break up their outline, but wouldn't something closer to a guille suit be more appropriate?

The helmet cover you mentioned is called by the israely soldiers
"Mitznefet" (clown hat) - and it's one idea!
this cover was invented by guys from SF units, but today everybody use
it. it's made of camoflage net "bag" with rubber at the open end. all you do
is simply put it on top of the helmet and go - using no clips, buttons, or other breakable things...

The IDF does'nt use ghilie suits because they are to hot and heavy for
the hot and humid mediteranean climate.
instead, most of the camo gear is based on light, breathing camo net.
the net is double-sided: one side woodland, the other desert pattern.
