I don't know why, works for me :( Keep trying, its worth it. Last night I came across whole bunch of Soviet/Russian hardware videos and let me tell you, I almost want to be in the Rus military :)

I have no idea but the Smerch was developed in the early 80's and entered service in 1988

I like the US MRLS better.

I've posted already this movie here. And earlier it was posted one more time. Funny that you repeat this once again.

As for US MLRS it should be compared with Soviet Grad system rather than with Smerch.

As for Smerch and TOS-1 - i've seen consequences of both and i do not want to come under fire of those things

Do you have one for TOS, I'd love to see that one in action

I made one mistake during second Chechen war. I didn't record TV news on my VCR. There was footage of TOS-1 in action in beginning of 2000. Very impressive.

The Smerch and MLRS are not comparable. The Uragan is closer in performance to the MLRS. The Smerch has trajectory corrected rockets and more than twice the range of the MLRS (90km compared to 40km for the MLRS).
The Russian system is mounted on a truck chassis that was standardised throughout the Warsaw pact, the MLRS uses the bradley chasis that only the US used.
