I recently purchased a Blackhawk Omega vest (OD) from lightfightertactical.

I ordered an OD one with 6 mag pouches, I received another on, with only 2 mag pouches and some other pockets. I like this design even better, si I'm not complaining, since this seems to be newer model with extra fasteners on the front and 2 shooting-pads on the shoulders.

But here's my question: I ordered OD vests from BHI before, and they were really GREEN! This one basically is too, but all flaps are brown! As are the strips on the back. Here are some pictures, hope you can see it.

Is this common?

P.S. What I love too is the other thing I bought... http://www.xs4all.nl/~santenws/MP.net/Ordering/Safariland_6004_SLS_Mk23.jpg

I have no idea on the color on the flaps, look green to me.

But this vest is called Omega Phalanx HSV Vest (Homeland Security Vest)

One thing that I find somewhat strange is why you got an OD version since on http://www.blackhawk.com they only offer it in Black :P may be an old version of the Phalanx, dont know but I've been wanting one for some time, since it has dual sniper pads and mag pouces along with a utility pouch, pistol and a shotgun pouch.

One other thing that is strange is that lf.com has this vest on it's site but only black :D

I'm out for now :)

WarGOD, please let me know how the vest works.

My LightFighter Tactical Inc. receipt states: "Omega Tactical Vest Olive" that's it for the description. It also has a number: "30VT03OD". i paid $114, rather cheap I think!

The Phalanx you mentioned is supposed to be more expensive, it looks like this one: http://www.lightfighter.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=684 the one ordered is this: http://www.lightfighter.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=673

WarGOD, please let me know how the vest works.

I will... I'm intending to use it with BlackwaterCRG, our Airsoft-clan. I have several Blackhawk clone-vests, but decided I wanted the real stuff. No big differences yet!

I would return it straight away foor poor quality control, but I think that it actually looks better this way! So, yes, in the end I would keep it and be happy. :)

You may have a rare collector's piece! ;) :D

I had to look at it... And again... And again... But now, every time I see it, I like it more!

Not only because this one is MINE, but also because I thinks it'll blend in very good with the rest of my outfit, and the environment.

umm would it not be a single color if you actually got it dirty? As long as the **** works... its like a "qweer eye for geer noob" sometimes here, all I read is whining about color mismatches :bash: how is the mismatch going to affect utility?

you wont see the cutaway on the pictured vast as it is not present,
read CLOSER, and notice that there are VARIOUS 'omega' vests there.

Of course I know there are several Omega-series vests by BHI. And I also know the color will not affect the effectiveness.

BUT: If I buy something, spend a lot of money on it, I would like it to be the way A). Exactly how I ordered it (this is a different one than ordered, I ordered the one with 6 magazine pouches), and B). to be the way it's supposed to be, by the factory standards. I never heard any complaints before about wrong or different colors in BHI-vests...

It just lucky it turned out I like it after all! Actually, I like it very much!

Dude... The vest you have, unless it is missing some stitching I can't see, is made to factory standards. Webbing colours sometimes vary. Big deal. I have several of the same items from the same manufacturer(not BPG) and the webbing varies from brown-ish OD to green OD to grey-ish OD.
My "OD" gear from eagle, TT, BPG, Berghaus etc. varies too. This is not usually a mayor issue. There is this thing out there called "spray paint" if it is ;)

Looks like you got a limted edition/rare kind of vest, and you like it too. People at Lightfighter must be mindreaders ;) hehe
Seriously; I think you will find the phalanx HSV a better overall vest than the 12 mag version.

Thanks DTTO! I think you are right...

I know that already. Tried to figure out a nice layout for the stuff I carry, and this setup is way better than the mag-pouches all over the vest. Next sunday I will find out while using it!

How did you do THAT!

Dealers get lower prices. Otherwise (no offense, Mr. Noell) I'd opt for Eagle nylon crap.

It is, no offense to BHI. It's AMERICAN MADE. Paraclete is also better in my opinion. However, I'd end up paying $2047912374523 for the rest. BHI is good so far.
