I Don't know but we lost 4 , 2 during a PHOTEX(with a H-500) and 2 other during exercices.

why don't the spanish have the twin engined version, or do they have them now (btw how old are these pictures)?

7º Squadron!!!
This squadron does not exist nowadays, those pics have to be taken in 1980-1985 I think.
I live in the base where cobras used to be and I've asked that question a lot of times and no, the rotor didn't hit the ground woot
My father was in the 5º Squadron SH-3D Sikorsky Seaking! Here a pic with the old painting scheme.

The cobra is the coolest chopper when it comes down like that. My fav helo after ka52kamov.

We had 8 of them and crashed in:
- September 73
- February 74
- June 78
- May 80
One is in San fernando in an Academy dunno what happened with the other 3.
Was closed 19 October 1984 altough they flew till 9 March 1987.

They were returned to US. At the beginning they were for FAMET(spanish army air corps) but at the end they went to Armada and their pilots were Spanish marines(and the one you are talking about is now in Suboficiales academy)don't ask why i don't know(maybe politics).
Then we had AV-8.Nowadays they are tlking about a naval version of Tigre. rofl

El 17/09/73 el Bell AH-1G Hueycobra con el numeral Z.14-3_007-3 se perdió en accidente, no esta documentado.
El 02/02/74 colisionaron en vuelo un AH-1G ( Z.14-5_ 007-5) y un Hughes 500M ( Z.13-4_006-4) durante una sesión fotográfica.
El 12/06/78 un Cobra ( Z.14-6_01-706) cayo cerca de Jerez de la Frontera, las condiciones metereologicas eras pésimas con espesa niebla, se atribuyo a desorientación espacial del piloto.
El 16/05/80 un Cobra ( HA-14-7_01-707) durante la fase de aproximación al antiguo Galicia sufrió un fallo de rotor y de desplomo al mar.
