I'll be blunt and straight-forward, I don't want any garbage from armchair commandos. Two slots have been provided to participate in Robin Sage at Camp Mackall. It's a two-week long course in which we'll most likely be OPFOR for the candidates but I think it'll be a good experience for myself as far as basic small unit tactics and to get involved with some high-speed stuff. I'm pretty confident my grades and PT scores are high enough to gain one of these two slots.

I'd just like to know info regarding this course and whether or not it's worth going to. Given a brief description, I've been told it's a good opportunity to 'get ahead of the game' and prepare for camp but that I should not be surprised if I don't get to take a shower the entire time down there.

Of course, my Airborne slot is first priority but I'd really like to find a way to squeeze this into my busy summer schedule. Thanks.

Thanks man. I'm seriously looking into this, it was offered to me out of the blue earlier today.

From what little I know about the U.S. Army today (my brother in law is an officer in the 1st AD) you'll have the opportunity to go to Jump School after you graduate if you don't do it now. OPFOR on Robin Sage would be pretty cool...

I go to the University of Alaska Fairbanks and i went to Robin sage its just F*ckin campin with SF, you are the indeginous populous they are training, some **** is cool, but go to CDQC or Sapper or something. You'll get a chance to go SF, you don't learn much just campin in the F*ckin woods.

NCDuce,

I agree with AK Beaver, if I were you I'd avoid Robin Sage if at all possible and go to a school, any school. Cool (as per James) counts for squat in your 201 file.

Yeah, I knew about being the indigenous population. I just have some spare time left in my summer and I want to fill it by doing something at least somewhat productive. I just want to find ways to basically experience what the Army has to offer, I mean it's free training...I might as well take advantage! Not many people get to do Robin Sage, whether as an actual participant or OPFOR. Besides, I can talk to all of the guys going through and the cadre and just gain knowledge. I'll be in Benning from 27 July - 17 August. I'll be in a workshop for a week in June over in Utah and in Cincinnati shortly after that so that month is down the drain. I definitely will schedule Robin Sage around Airborne if it comes down to it though. Thanks again guys.
