There is a new 4 part series on BBC every thursday in which a hunter force consisting of 2 ex Navy S.E.A.L's an ex.Royal Marine Commando and an Ex. member of the armys elite PFPL, attempt to catch Chris Ryan , the famous ex.SAS member who escaped Iraq during the Bravo Two Zero mission when the patrol was compromised.

This guy is the daddy of escape and evasion adn he is tested in harsh conditions. So far it has been set in the jungles of Honduras and the frozen wastelands of Northern Russia. He attempts to complete a mission whilst being hunted down in boats , helicopters and on foot the hunter force uses different techniques to hunt him down they also utilise local peoples knowledge to find him.

Chris ryan films himself on a small digital camera and occasional meets up with a film crew at the rv points.

I think this series Rocks and demonstrates the skill and expertise of SAS men and how they do there amazing stuff.

I welcome any comments about the series or about the SAS.

Sounds like a show worth watching, but I can only watch BBC World here in Finland. :(

Yeah I also wached it yesterday. I saw the first one as well in the Jungles of Honduras. I actually prefered the jungle one better to the Arctic one yesterday. In my oppinion I think the Arctic is the worst environment to be in. It just seems soo much more extreme than the other environments - Desert, Jungle. Chris Ryan seemed to get pretty bad at one stage suffering from Hypothemia. When he talks on camera saying why they do things like you do (SAS) he sure knows what he's on about. Trained by one of the best Special FOrces in the world...if not the best. Hunted by highly experienced ex-special forces.

I wonder if he will ever be captured by the hunter force!!!

Give us a break lads it's another reality TV load of crap!!
Some of my non service mates thought it was really good, then i pointed out a few things that kind of took the wind out of their sails!!.

E&E........with a camera team monitoring Ryans moves!! yeah right!!
Point one any good tracker will tell you this, instead of looking for Ryans prints ,look for the deeper prints of the camera team, these steady cams weigh some!!,so the operator is going to leave a deeper footprints, and more distinguishable than Ryans.....so why not follow these?

Point 2 just because he made it to Syria during GW 1 doesn't make him invisible, even his accounts of how he got there are questionable. So the King of E&E dream on!!

Point 3 During the mid 80's when I was in Redford Barracks,my Company did an exercise with the SAS,and US SOF in the Scottish Highlands, about E&E,they'd been out in the field for 7 days or something, and we caught 90% of them,so many, that the exercise was considered a failure on their behalf, and we (A Coy) recieved a letter of commendation from the CO of 22 at that time. So not everything you see and hear about SF is all about sucess's sometimes they fuc* up just like the rest of us!!!

This would have been more believable if Ryans movements were un monitored, instaed of being followed by camera's!!

Just in case you think what he did was worthy of being labbeled the King of E&E,there were 2 members of the SBS who did something very similar during the ground war in Iraq after the platoon was compromised during insertion!!

So by that standard these 2 are also Kings of E&E,so thta hardly makes Ryan unique then does it?
