I remeber the time when Romanian people were comming as a refugees to my town and how we helped them.

I think that Romanians did their job extremly good and that they were extremly brave fighting one of the cruelest regimes Europe has ever seen. I adimre them and I wish we did the same.

Glad you guys "liked" them. That guy with the AK around his neck, may not be a soldier, because as my dad told me, people could go to certain units and get weapons and bullets with their ID because everyone feared the "terrorists" and lots of ppl died because of incompetent morons that were just firing into the crowds.

I remember - we in the Hungaryan army siting on the gras next to the Romanian border and wait for the orders... if Chauchescu hit back... i don't want to know the konsekvence what hapend if the romainian people not that strong and brave...

I remember watching this on TV when I was kid and thinking wow war in neighbourhood.That few days my mother didn't need baby siter I was in front of TV all eyes and ears.

her dad fought to protect her block... although i'm not sure it was worth it on his part -- seeing how much of a bitch his daughter ended up. poor guy.

You couldn't. In fact, there were no bad guys and good guys. Initially the army was sent out on the streets to suppress the riot but a few days and a few hundred bodies later the generals rose against Ceausescu and said that the army was with the people and everyone was happy.

There are lots of uncertainties regarding the Revolution such as who started, what interests did it have, etc because many belive now as they did then that this was started by an Intel. agency from the West or even KGB and everyone feared "the terrorists"(a few dozen soldiers were killed by fellow infrantrymen as they were supposed to act as reinforcements at a small airport near Bucharest but the soldiers guarding the airport heard they were terrorists and opened fire against the trucks)

My dad was give a small old soviet weapon(that looked like the Nazi Mauser) called ZB(7.92 caliber) and a few bullets and sent to guard a certain wall of the factory he was working at because he was young and just got out of service and he wasn't allowed to keep a bullet on the barrel.

If you guys want me to cease the infos please tell me. Sometimes I get a bit carried away

Better life. Oh yeah, no OIL, no GAS, ****ING PEOPLE STARVING IN THE STREETS. Yeah right. I got my own beleifs about these "freedom fighters", and all these people should be gassed. Oh sure, the capital now has some huge skyscrapers thanks to some fat oligarch ****, but look on the streets and you will see a different picture.

Now you've upgraded from "moron" to "****ing moron". I've lived there quite a few years, I know better than you what happened and what happenes there. Those guys weren't "freedom fighters". They were simply students that were fed up with the conditions(you had to wake up at 5 AM to get in line to get some milk, or for a few hundred grams of meat, etc).

So mr Angrykirill, go to Romania/Hungary/Czech Republic and you'll see that it's not so bad actually and THEN you're allowed to tell ME how things are in my own country.

Hmm let's see.. I was in TALINN some time ago, didn't like what i saw. There are many poor people around, allthough many rich too. The reason there are many rich rich is because its unexplored country compared to fx. holland and rich people can get ****loads there.

I haven't watched this **** on TV, **** i barely watch the TV. TV is a bunch of propoganda **** bla bla.

Now you're telling me that so much has changed bla bla.. Oh yeah, right. True to that they built many banks and other rich offices, but **** just because you today can get 50 types of sausage, only like 2 of them are affordable regularly. Yes, it is true that there is no "limit" now, but then people aren't getting that much money to buy all that ****.

I've lived there quite a few years, I know better than you what happened and what happenes there.

I lived in Russia but that probably doesnt count as you want "east parts of EU", but leaving that out i have been to Bulgaria if that counts, Talinn and some other Eastern Europe towns.

Oh, and now a question, how about GAS and OIL. Where you gonna get that now? And dont tell me that everyone has it now, just because some rich guys do how about the people who don't have that much money.

So mr Angrykirill, go to Romania/Hungary/Czech Republic and you'll see that it's not so bad actually and THEN you're allowed to tell ME how things are in my own country.

Talinn, Estonia is probably better than any of those (in meaning of feeding of money/resources by the west) so don't tell me anything.

Angrykirril, I'm sorry man, I don't know who the hell you are, where are you from and especially how old you are. You're acting like a 5 year old kid with no education whatsoever. Talinn is in ESTONIA which is a BALTIC country, and they were under the Soviet Union. I was talking about independent countries under the Warsaw Pact.
We get our gas from the Russians mostly and the oil we produce it ourselves. News to you, huh? You've been watching too many movies in which there are these rich guys thriving and the rest of the population is starving. Newsflash dude, we also have a middle class, and everyone survives. Everybody in the urban areas has electricity, heat, telephone, etc and oh the toilets are in the house and we have sewers(imagine that :roll: ). Stop bs-ing me about that hypotethical East-Europe you know. The really as Brzeczyszczykiewicz said it's totally different. I'm not saying it's heaven, but it's a hell of a lot better now.

Actualy nope ..not really ... AIMS-74 (Model 86) is still 5.54x39 mm where they are in use ...The Standard is still good old AKM 7.62... God know what will happend...

remember, Romanian revolution was in 1989...but romanian soldiers look like WW II fighters. Their uniforms were produced in the 30ies or 40ies :lol:
