Some MI-26 came in France to help us for firefighting. Thanks to the Russians for this.
With a special bag, this chopper can load and throw the twice of the volume water of a Canadair.
Canadair are faster, but the russian chopper can snake in close space where a canadair can't go.
Sure it's a good and impressive one. :D

The Mi-12: (http://www.flying.no/mi12.htm)
The Mi-12 is the only helicopter made by MIL that has 2 rotors. It is the largest helicopter built and flown in the world, but it never entered production. The Mi-12 project was cancelled believed due to expenses and technical problems.
And the Mi-10: (http://www.bearcraft-online.com/museum/museum.htm?mid=44)
Probably the Mil Mi-10 is not only the slimmest (and perhaps most elegant) of the heavy lifters designed by Mil, it most certainly is also the rarest of the big helicopters. Production details are still quite sketchy, but it is estimated that only about 55 Mil Mi-10 and Mil Mi-10K have been built between 1960 and 1977.
On the other hand: Nice machines, both on them, I'm not gonna argue with that.

Only 3 Mi12 were built. I think that picture is from Paris airshow.
I believe Russia has built damn near the largest everything!

Size doesn't always technically matter. It ain't worth squat if you ain't got good avionics, engines, etc. Besides, it's not the size that matters, it's how you use it..............
