How does a modular chest rig over armor compare to directly attaching ammo pouches to the armor? Thanks! :)

If you go with something like a SDS FLC II or BHI Commnado Chest Harness your going to get more MOLLE straps then you would on a standard Interceptor (if thats what your talking about). And its much easier to take off the whole vest if you just want to use the body armor. Overall buying a seperate vest such as a FLC you will definitely be able to put more pouches on your vest and carry more gear in the field with it.

It really depends on your mission - both ways have their pros and cons.

Don't you wear Paraclete bro?

Last time overseas I did... this time it will be something "sleeker". Paraclete with mag pouches and the rest on your chest make you about 8 inches thicker through the torso, even more if you attache a water bladder to the back... driving can be a pain in the ass with all that crap on. Some guys need to fight the urge to keep putting more and more crap on a vest - just because there is a blank space of webbing doesn't mean you need another pouch...
Lightfighter has a new vest out (Warhammer) that I've ordered (and like EVERYTHING from Lightfighter, it is out of stock...), and it seems pretty decent - not as bulky as something like a Paraclete/Interceptor, but still offering that level of protection.

I've also got one of these that I'm going to try out...

That warhammer vest looks fairly comfy, looks like a mating of a wa/wesatch front with a Paraclete carrier.

Ya, soft armor. plates and pouches all in one. Sleeker than a super duper Paraclete too.

I alwas wondered how one of those paracletes would fit, since it looked kinda bulky from the picture. But then again thats just a picture.
I wonder whether driving with a water bladder , mags and vest wouldnt feel like driving with a large backpack on it a small car.
It would be cool to actually have some pics of those carriers, with plates inside them, lets say medium size plates.
Or at least to see the inside where the plate pouch is located, so you can figure out where the plate would then rest in correlation to the rest of the vest.

Theyare bulky, but the fit snugly and are very comfortable. If you have to move quickly, your gear doesn't bounce around - that's nice. It does sort of feel like wearing a backpack while driving, I guess.
The plate pockets are basically the entire front and back portions of the vest. Now, some companies are even makin plates for the sides, and little plate carriers to cover the shoulders. Pretty cool.
