For those that care, Green Day won "best rock album" thus far.

GREEN DAY are sell outs shame on them

Yes shame on Green Day for making a name of themselves. And shame on them for their success. And how in God's name can they even think about providing for their wives and children. They should be living in the back of a dirty van down by the river and still sell t-shirts themselves. But I do have one question....since when has a pop punk band been considered a sell out for not wasting away in poverty? ;)

I agree with Secret Squirrel. I think Green Day has found a good balance between staying true to themselves & the music and using their popularity to create success. I was a big fan before Dookie, and still enjoy their music. Good for them.

I like Green Day. I think their new album kicks ass. But the Grammys proved to be nothing more than a popularity contest a looooooooong time ago. They're somewhere between the People's Choice Awards and the Blockbuster Awards now.

Los Lonely Boys won Song of the Year :D

or best pop performance by a duo or group with vocal for their song "Heaven"No offense, but could that band be any more insipid?

Apparently, Calexico will be opening for them on their next tour, which makes me sad, as it always does when a great band opens for a crappy one.

On the Grammy's being lame: these are the same people who gave Will-frickin'-Smith two awards in the rap category. Just sayin'.

Well, you might not like their music, but they're damn talented. Did you see them Live in Austin? Mind-blowing...They're one of my favorites.

I love the new CD. I dont like the political message that goes with it though, but the song jesus of suberbia itself deserves the grammy. ****ing awesome album

I liked greendays old stuff, but i find American Idiot lacking. Sure, there about 2 good songs on it, but thats about it.

not only should they have avoided getting political, but they should have really spent more time on the music than they did on politics.

Perhaps they are skilled flower-arrangers? Carvers of stone? Mathemeticians? If they're talented at music, I'd certainly be interested to learn more about that: I've only bothered to hear about a half-dozen of their songs, but those were uniformly vapid.

And no, I did not see them live in Austin. Did they do something interesting there?

Well it's obvious you dislike their music. But what I'm telling you is that they are talented musicians. Henry is amazing at the guitar. I have the DVD of their concert, and one song they play is mostly instrumentals; it's called Onda. Seeing him play it...I couldn't believe I was watching it. It really touched me...but I just love them anyways. It's fine that you don't like them...There's no use arguing about it, really.

I like LLB. My sister lives in Austin, so she's seen them in Texas before they exploded. I just wish radio wouldn't play one song and play it to death. See Santana's "Smooth"...
