How was the Bushmaster pistol used? The operating manuals says the receiver was laid across the forearm, but this would seem to be difficult to look down the sights, unless the strong arm was just straight-arm out. In that case, where did the support arm hold it? Anyone have pictures of how it was supposed to be used?

It was classified as a pistol by the ATF since it had no stock and had a barrel length below 16 inches. The barrel length was 11.5 inches and the overall length was 20 inches.

I always had this vision of it being one-handed, which would take care of where your support arm would be. Of course that seems a bit weird, but then again so is the armgun.

Much to the Brady's Campaigns dismay, this would be a firearm I would fire from the Hip. To stop someone seeing me with such a fugly looking firearm.

Those were supposed to be survival weapons for helo crews or some ****.

Neato if you ask me. I don't care how it looks, unless it doesn't work worth a **** either. I've never fired one.

You could rest the butt of it in your shoulder. It is small, but hey why not.

It does have a shoulder stock.

It does have a shoulder stock.
Um, no, it doesn't. The rear sight is at the very rear of the weapon.

That thing you posted was an Air Force prototype, not the real thing.

Now come on, you have to get the one with the lower accersory rail so you can add facny lights and lasers and a vertical forward pistol grip.

Actually, over at arfcom we've been debating whether or not putting a vertical grip on a Bushmaster Carbon Type 97S would constitute constructing an AOW and make your life difficult.

I did that with a Glock 17 once. Trouble though, with plastic framed pistols - if you pull on the forward grip too much, you can make the frame flex a tiny bit and mess with the slide.
