I only had a few gi joes when i was younger. Wasnt lucky enough to have more than about 2 of them and a vehicle. I liked micro machines though. The army ones. They were so much mor rrealistic.

Methinks Argyll, then, or Gordon. Hmm...
G.I. Joe all the way! Back in the day I would spend COUNTLESS hours building lego ships, planes etc

I liked both, but I prefered Transformers more. But I have still got a GI Joe F16 :D .
I had also both, but G.I JOE was the favorite one. Actually it was Action Force or something here in Europe.
If I remember correctly I have lots of them at home (parent's place), at least vehicles and choppers. Hmm, there's this AH1, and this twin propeller chopper, tomahawk?
Guttorm
11-04-2003, 05:46 AM
Yes, it was called Action Force over here.
And I had TONS of planes, cars and stuff... Lost count of how many different figures I had.
Wonder where they all are now...

I had a couple Barbies... but I don't have issues, cause I'm a girl. I also played with my brothers' Transformers and Legos, cause damn, those were cool toys. I don't remember any of us ever having GI Joes. I watched the cartoon sometimes though.

A bunch of us kids used to get together and each build a city and an army outta legos, then we would spend the next few days systemattically destroying them.

Old school here. Remember vaguely the full size GI Joe himself and Stretch Armstrong. But by the time I was old enought to play..it was Star Wars and GI Joe. They eventually suffered horrible casualties by way of "recreational ordinance."
You may all pay respects to many of the fallen: Boboa Fett, Luke, Chewbacha, Han, about a dozen storm troopers, Dozer, Snakeeyes, Duke, that Marine guy, and many others in several tiny graves somewhere in Ft. Ord California.

When I was a kid, all the neighbourhood kids played with Star Wars figures. There was this one kid who had all the figures, but his mum wouldnt let him take them out of the boxes. So there we'd be playing in the dirt, the Rebels storm the Imperial base and come face to face with Darth Vader and his Stormtroopers... still on their cards, propped up against a rock or something. Man we picked on that kid, he's probably a millionaire now.

I was a GI Joe fan as well, I remember reading the comic books while they were still published back here, it was only natural that one day they stopped publishing the comic and I was pretty heartbroken about it...
But Transformers were cool as well. I remember getting the GI JOE guys into fights against the transformers and...and....damn, my life was so care free those days.

I was defintely a GIJoe kid. I had quite a few Joes and some vehicles. I still have the one that is basically a Humvee with guns mounted on the side and top. As for Cobra figures, I was the only kid I knew who had only a dozen Viper troops instead of the individually named characters.

Xformers didn't exist when I was a kid. GI Joe was about a foot tall in those days. A few friends had them, but most of us boys were'nt interested in playing with dolls unless fire/explosives were involved. Capturing a Barbie for interrogation was a special treat.
My favorite toys had wheels or tracks.

yeah but i had some g.i.joes because we were in the netherlands very often on weekends and there they had the name g.i. joe, too. But they weren't really big here. I had starwars figures some masters of the universe (my brother had ****loads), a few transformers (no optimus prime :petting:) , LEGO, playmobil, ****loads of matchbox cars and....
   CARE BEARS woot

err....both. They were both quality toys. However I was definitely more of a GI Joe guy.
That was actually the only thing I ever stole in my life, a GI Joe guy from Toys R US. I feel much guilt.
I too had a care bear, yet I have no Idea why, nor do I remember how I got the thing, its probably worth some money now. I think it was the shamrock one or something.
G.i Joe but i prefered lego and micro machines.

GI Joe, until I pulled a stunt where I traded about 200 dollars worth of my GI Joe stuff to some kid for a freaking Monogram B-17 model kit.
My second grade mentality allowed me to glue the nose glass on the hole where the ball turret would suspend from. After my dad kicked my ass, he took the model apart and rebuilt it...

I liked the Gi Joe cartoon because of the Barenist. I was never partial to the action figures. Although now I collect 1/6th replicas so go figure.
Truth is I loved my Transformers, I used to love Grimlock
http://www.ishkur.com/suckysites/spaceraverz/grimlock.jpg
but I could never figure out why he was always mad? Plus his love of energon cubes. I always thought they tasted like grapes(don't ask lol).
I remember I cryed when Optimus Prime died. I also remember thinking Ultra Magnus was the one who would open up the Matrix on the junk planet but he was destroyed(because he couldn't open the matrix) by a renegade StarScream and I just couldn't take the suspence when he was destroyed. later on when Hot Rod(later Rodimus Prime) opened the matrix I just couldn't believe he would be the successor and leader of the Autobots.

oh ****, I forgot about Voltron. That cartoon was the SHIZNITFFELIT!!!!!!!
At the end some bad ass enemy robot would always come flyin down from the sky in a coffin and Voltron would have to fight him. Of course, knowing now that it was a Japanese cartoon, there were probably subliminal scenes of Voltron sodomizing a young Japanese girl in the woods with his long, steel arm.

Back in like 88 or 89 I collected these toys called Dino Rider's where it was a bunch of dinosaurs with lil people, and guns, and lil comic book's...I thought it was great. Oh, and I was a big Gi Joe fan.
