New Yorkers have an accent all their own, that's for sure. My aunt lives in Nashville and has adopted the accent very well. As for the rest of us, well...

Yes, in some places it is definitely less thick. Coastal Mainers have a particulary heavy accent, not unlike how some Massachussetts natives sound.

My accent isn't as noticeable - although I do have a tendency to slip into "coastal" every now and again. Personally, I like a good Downeast twang. :D

I would say overall being Irish is a bonus, comepared to some other nationalitites. The claiming another nationality thing in the US thing bothers me too.

My dad is trying to get me to apply for dual. I would, but I don't think that having dual Irish citizenship would let me work anywhere in the EU the way it would an Irish native. Other than that it just sounds like a hassle.

Even if I had it, I would claim, and do so now, to be an American.

As for scoring, not really. Some broads abroad hate the US. That may have hurt. Some like the US. Don't know that it helped. Probably didn't matter to them. Going to Spain, Portugal, Italy late this year.
