What guns are those, SIGS? or Swedish made. And cool cammo patter, is there a reason why its done that way?

Essentially, they are adapted purely for the swedish climate and landscape.
Although, I find that the old british camo works fine :)

I believe the guns are AR-5's, copies (under license) of or based upon the Belgian FN-C.

Correct. The assaultrifle is produced in swedish on license from FN Herstal. It's based on FN FNC, but with some small adjustment.

Thats cambered for 5.56 right? Not 7.62?

I belive Norway is the only scandinavians that have 7.62 as the personal weapon.
Though I'm not sure what the Finns use.

Yup to fool the eye, i dont know what you call it in english but i fools the eye and the brain thinking that the fields ore spots in the uniform are at different distance from each other, in swedish we call it deep seeing.
Excuse my bad english.

Stupid pic, but you can see how the cammo works fo about 80% of swedish terrain.
I think that the cammo is not dark enough.

The first idea was the different cammos, same pattern different colors, one for south, middle an north sweden. But from a logistical view it would cost to much. So only this pattern were produced.

Whats miles gear?

http://olanze.se/jb/Images/maskering.jpg

@Guttorm

Yes, its a 5.56
Not only norway uses 7,62. but the swedish home guard currently uses the same just a bit modded G3. But we call it AK4
I am using for the moment this weapon, heavy but powerfull.

The finns use a 5.56 valmet A copy of kalashnikovNope. Standard ammo in Finland is (and was) 7,62mm x 39 and Finnish Defence Forces use 7,62 Rk.95TP (7,62 Rynnäkkökivääri 95 Taittoperä) which means in normal language 7,62mm assault rifle, model 1995, folding stock or SAKO (not Valmet) M95. In my opinion the best 7,62mm AK-clone ever ;)

I just have to say... The feeling of shooting a 7.62 rifle KICKS ASS!
Theres just too little recoil in the 5.56 rifels...

More bang for your bucks in a 7.62.... :D

If you prefer recoild, buy a .50 cal or an elephant rifle.

Guttorm

Yeah well, you can't empty a mag on a 50.cal rifle in 2 sec, can you? :D

I can see the advantages and DISadvantages of both calibers when it comes to a battlesituation, but it's mor FUN to shot with 7.62.

But now, I've only fired the G-3 and the m16, Cant't tell you about other weapons.

Well.. Errr... I can't tell you THAT much about the m16 either.. It was a brief encounter. :D

The simulators are manufactured by the Swedish company Saab. The point in having two different detectors in the helmet must have something to do with combining different weapons. The bigger detector looks similar to what I've seen used with anti-tank weapon simulators, BT46(?) also made by Saab.

So if someone decides to shoot a guy with AT-missile, it will register the hit?

yup the cimfire/bt equipment used alot, but not everytime since its very expensive.

Good things with is that you learn how you really would perform in combat if you only look on the training you have.

For insance, in one training day the sharpshooter/designatedmarksmen shot/killed the medics. Which in law is illegal. They said they didnt recon that they were medics. A thing like that you can otherwise maybe only know in a real situation.

The bad thing with the BT system is when it comes to bigger weapons, like an at4, just as someone told eralyer that if you use it against a person it registers a hit. Even against tanks the effect of at4 can register a hit i think.

I remeber once when our protection team took out a whole tankcompany using only at4 in a cimfire exercise. IN a real situation that wouldve never happened.

@remov... ooooops though it was 5.56. my bad

7.62..fell in love with it after using 5.56 during mil.service. I like 7.62 alot more too. The bad thing is that 7.62 rifles are heave and in cqb ops you need to shoot auto to clean rooms, thats not easy to do with a 20 bullet magazine G3/AK4.
