I would have shot myself if I had a female DI during basic. My 1st SGT was a female at 91B school and she was the biggest dyke I had ever laid eyes on. Luckly I was prior service and never saw her that often. **** was a mean B****.

Who cares who she's yelling at, she's yelling. You guys talk **** about females in the military all you want, And many I've worked with were crap, but my PLDC Instructor was kick-ass. She was part of 100 females that were sent thru the SFAS Course in the 90's and she was the only one who passed. They asked her what she thought about females in the SF and she said they had no place in the SF. She was asked where she wanted to go afterwards and she picked being a PLDC Instructor...

Fcuk that. Had a female in my platoon. She was cool. Did a less than decent job. Had a few other ladies in the HQ-company. Did their job great.

Hey, I'm not here to debate between REservest and Reg's. But think about it. If females can be good soldiers in the Reserves, think how friggin motivated they can be to actually join the Regs.

Now maybe you've never seen any of them. Or maybe you just don't want to see them. I can't really comment on it, cause I don't know you. But I've seen'em, and there's little you can do to change that.

i have seen them, otherwise i would keep my mouth shut. ive seen them pushed through courses because the top brass wanted a new poster girl, ive seen men have to carry their rucks on simple marches, ive seen them mess up on pretty much antything you can imagine. of course ive seen men do the same, there is lots of junk everywhere, especially in the CF, but im not talking about them right now. all im saying is that there is no place for women in combat, bar none, no one who has been in a REAL army unit in a fighting situation can honestly say they would rather have a female as a fire team partner when the rounds are coming down range then a man.

i personally think that woman should be given the chance to hold a combat mos but my female recruiter doesnt think woman belong in combat and she brought up a valid point that if a guy like me at 200 pounds was wounded would someone like her at 130 pounds be able to carry me but i would like to hear the opinion of the female members on the site :)

That scenario obviously depends on the individual female soldier. It is possible for lighter people to successfully move a heavier comrade, regardless of the gender of either one.

Of course, this one situation cannot be the last deciding factor in whether or not women belong in combat. I value the opinions of the BTDTs on the forum on this matter far more than the opinions of the armchair elite, so their input is very welcome - although this particular topic has been rehashed time and again.

It looks like they're holding lengths of rope. Unless I miss my guess, they're doing a teamwork exercise with planks of wood. The object is to take five or six people, make them stand with one foot on a separate plank, hold ropes that are attached to the planks, and walk as a single "body".

It's something that we had students do in a high school leadership class.

I think you're basing an awful lot on the performance of a few and your way of expressing your opinion certainly does not make what you say all that worth reading.

Just my thought on that.

I am a male that weighs under 130 (I have a VERY fast metabolism, need to consume 4000 calories a day to maintain weight), getting butter bars in the US Marine Corps, and I have no problem carrying a guy that is about 200-220 lbs. It is a case by case situation. Hell who knows, a female of that size may get the adrenaline going and be able to do that with no problem. No one will know until the situation comes up. I've personally seen both end of the spectrum when it comes to women in the military, squared away soldiers, sailors, airman, or Marines, and I've seen real **** birds, but then I've seen an equal amount of the same in regards to male. It's the person, not their gender, that determines how they conduct themselves or perform.

first off, you obviously are having a little trouble with the keyboard, take a deep breath, relax and try to type again in english.

it is clear you have spent zero time in the army, let alone the comabt arms, you are just some little cowboy whos wife kicks his ass around the house and therefore you are forced to fear and respect women.

to anyone else who cares to respond to my comments here, unless you have served in a combat unit (no, the reserves dont count )with women in it, i really dont care what you have to say, because you havent been there and you dont know what you are talking about.

oh yeah, and about the ****, you obviously havent been to iraq, there is none here at all, sorry to ruin it for you.

you know nothing about me so making generic comments such as "my wife kicks my ass around the house" is so far fetched its laughable.

seems to me your rational is either you arnt getting any or cant (unic(sp?) maybe?) or is it that you just got a nice dear john letter cause your lady back home realized what a yutz you are and your brother can hang better in the sack then you. it might be you have been in a combat situation and have been hit because the lack of a female. yet if you would stop and relaize that just as many women fail as men in a combat situation.

and by the way, reserveist do count, if you dont agree take a trip to camp liberty and go tell my buddy in the 3/156th of the 256 that him and his boys dont count as soldiers...

and what part of iraq are you in dip****, there is **** all over the place

This guy obviously has a lot of hate in him. *shrug* not his fault, probably just the way he was raised.

Not enough love perhaps? To much? Hell, who knows, lol.

So you think you're the shizt do you? You seen combat? You been in the shizt? Wow, you must think you're so hard huh? Been there, done that?

Any man that can't respect the capibilities of both genders isn't much of a soldier. Watch your back the next time you're in "the shizt", maybe the next person to shoot you in the head will be a woman.

I we could put personal attacks aside and focus on the topic (or at least the mutant topic, since the actual topic is the pic)

During my 11 years in the US Army, I served with a lot of women. Some of them were good soldiers, some of them were not. Just like the men.

Among the accomplishments of women I knew in the Army...

One maxed the Male standards for the APFT.

I saw one slam a drunk Marine on the pavement and handcuff him by herself.

Another qualified for the SRT team.

Still another was awarded a Bronze Star for defending her position with an M60 machine gun.

I went to Iraq with a female batallion commander, and I've also had female platoon leaders and platoon sergeants. And in Basic, I had not one, but two female Drill Sergeants in my company.

All of them were certainly worth a damn.

Currently, I work with women in my job (CO at a Supermax prison). We have female watch commanders, and women on the security squad. They are all worth a damn as well.

It doesn't matter to me what your plumbing is, as long as you can do the job. If you can't...well, I have no time for you, male or female.
