Our banning lines are being stretched pretty thin. After the banning Mortimer thread, which most people agreed with, and then the highly critizised banning ducimus thread, going into another banning thread would be stupid.*

i dont think people should be banned for express how they fell unless it is in a ignorant manner or done to flame the boards .

Interesting point. As this thread is a thread about threads that want to ban, banning the originator of this banning thread seems logical.

The worst thing is that I actually opened up a semi-banning thread myself a while after this thread... :oops: But on the other hand this wasn't really a serious thread and was started at a time when the OT-forum was getting filled by banning threads.

LOl. So you can get semi-banned.. You can only come here ever 2nd sunday of every other month.. We'll take it to court.

Who are the most recent ones to be banned and what did they do?

You should see what it's like at the conservative Free Republic (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/browse) or the leftist Democratic Underground (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/). A few posts that are just slightly hostile and do not conform to the editorial policy and you can be banned within an hour.

Given the proliferation of trolls on this board, what does it take to be banned? If it were up to me, if I saw someone showing a pattern of interrupting civil discussions with personal attacks and turning them into flame-wars, they would be toast.
