Personally I think this thread is actually relevant because its in the humor section. I also dont own a cell phone myself because I dont like the feeling of somebody getting ahold of me were ever I am. Sometimes I like to be left alone, its not that I dont have the money.

I don't go for those new phones that can fit in a wallet with cameras and all that crap.

ducimus, the off topic section was created almost entirely for jack's rantings. The best way to combat jack's "post your X" threads are to come up with better ones. I for one enjoy scrolling through meaningless posts like this during lunch time. It's a nice break from the highly stressful political debating from the other sections at times.

That said, I went out and got the Verizon LG-VX6000 camera phone cuz i'm a gadget weenie. To prove that I'm more of a weenie that you were thinking of while reading the previous sentence, I had even setup a site where people could post their own camera phone photos.

About complicated phones..I only need one with gprs java, wap and decent display so I could use mine as terminal to my linux, to add new torents, check mail be on IM constantly etc kind things when I'm not home or close to computers but have no money for such... I ussualy don't use my cellural for phoning and sms'ing(I have maybe 3 minutes of outgoing calls in last 4 months and maybe 20 outgoing sms, but I cheateed when I want to send message to someone I use free sms gateway in my IM client ). In other ways I virtualy use my cellphone only to recieve messages and calls from people who don't have net acces at the time....

Back in the day I was a cell phone repair tech. I had several 60 gal. plastic trash cans full of phones...that of course was back when phones were at least $200 even with an activation, and phones had not yet gone to surface mount technology & were more repairable. We used to play around with some of the phones we used to scavenge parts from.

I remember trying to break a Motorola 8000 cellphone. I smashed that MF on the concrete floor of the repair bay - and could not get it to break. Man, that thing was stout. If I tried the same today with the average Sanswishi 80xi camera phone, I'd be blinded by shards of splintered cheap plastic.

I paid about $3200.00 for my first Motorola cell phone...it was a handheld that could be put into a unit in the trunk. It boosted the power and converted it into an in-car phone that had a handset and speaker phone installed in the the cockpit. I still have it ..in a closet gathering dust..

It's a great phone by my standards - there's no camera though, which is fine by me.

The only games I have in my mobile are Puzzle Bobble, Karpov 3D (chess) and Sexy Poker (with 3 different chicks to strip).
