This has bothered me for years - why do so many European armored vehicles have that white cross on the rear? I've seen it on German and, I think, Dutch vehicles, now Spain. I used to think it was some kind of heraldic crest when I first saw it on a German vehicle, but now I have no idea what it's for. :|

There's actually a little light behind the cross.
