He is doing his job you simps. It doesn't matter if it works or not. As long as he takes the first step.. then it is up to the French to either try and make nice back or turn their noses up... again.

Sarcasm. But maybe not too far off. Letting his european opposition know that he is still in charge and wants to play nice, sort of states the obvious.

He plans on accomplishing this:
Chirac: Le Président Bush, je vous ai détesté pendant le plus long temps,
particulièrement après votre invasion de l'Irak.
Bush: Your point?
Chirac: Après qu'ils aient tué mon ami à long terme Rafik Hariri dans
Beriut, je suis d'accord avec vous que la Syrie est maintenant un lit
de terroism.
Bush: Your point?
Chirac: Veuillez appliquer la pression implacable, même si elle signifie
prendre votre ouest de machine de guerre pour détruire les porcs.
Bush: No problem.

I would say most of them if not all. But doesnt have to be with a big majority. Would think its like the US with people split between the decision.
2) how many soliders to those countries supply?
3) what do you thin are their motives for beeing in iraq?
UK - 12400
Italy - 3169
Poland - 2500
Netherlands - 1345
Romania - 730
Denmark - 496
Bulgaria - 485
Portugal - 128
Latvia - 122
Czech Republic - 110
Lithuania - 120
Slovakia - 105
Albania - 71
Estonia - 55
Armenia - 46
Macadonia - 33
Norway - 10
And then you have to look at a lot of things before you can compare it to the amount of troops deployed by the US.
like:
-The size of thats countries army vs men deployed worldwide
- Amount of conscript vs professionel soldiers that country have.
-What kind of soldiers that are deployed (Infantry, Engineers, Support and so on.).
-Mission for those and the reason the country send those troops (Fighting, Rebuilding, Medical or Humanitarian aid).
Not everyone agreed on the invasion but helps rebuild the country anyways.
and most of these contries also have detachment in Afghanistan and at sea on Enduring freedom

I cant speak for other countries but in denmark there was a majority for troops at the beginning. Today it moves above and under 50% with a big chance that it will stay under. I think that the situation is the same in most other countries. And thats why you will see more and more countries pull out if there's isnt going to be some change in the situation in iraq. Ill bet if you look in the US the support is also falling there.
This mainly because of the US failure to stabilize the country. And now you will say but its also your failure since you are represented there. But most of the areas that are in non US "control" dont have the big problems that the US controlled area has. Ill leave it to yourself to think about why.
IamWhatIam
02-22-2005, 02:33 PM
All the countries that sent troops have the thanks of America, for at least standing up with us. Right or wrong...
The reason that most of the violence is in the US controlled areas is simple, the insurgents want to undermine our determination and support both at home and abroad. What's the best way to do that, make headlines, which is what their doing.
1) according to my knowledge, ~60% of your fellow netherlanders wanted their soldiers move out immediately, ~70% want them bail out if anyone dies (already did).
0w well then I guess you know my country better then I do ... tell me some more, is it cold up here?
afaik it was about 47% in favor of going, 40% of not going and the rest didn't care one way or the other.
the question wether or not to bail out when somebody died was never asked in the polls and when we suffered casualties the number in favor of staying only increased.
3) wow those are great motives, the netherlanders must be very special kind of persons. helping each other. living in harmony. lets all be friends!
make fun of it all you want ... says something about you though

Bush is there to get any kind of monetary help before our (US) economy goes into full collapse (note the remarks about Germany offering 500M Euros for tsunami relief).
Chirac and Schroeder are being polite in order to get any kind of absolution for previous breaches of trade sanctions against Iraq (maybe even compensation - don't bet on it), improved trade with us spendthrift Americans... and to get any kind of monetary help before the American economic collapse takes them with it.
Hmmm... that all boils down to sucking ****, doesn't it? ...'cept we're the ones getting screwed.

in the photograph of bush and chirac, notice how chirac has his hand on top of bush's, chirac is trying to be dominant, and someone would say aggressive, id say america should screw France, Germany etc, they dont need them.
For the less geographically inclined - England is in the UK (England scotland, wales, northern ireland) We are british, not english
Finally id say that in the UK there was strong support for military action against Iraq before the lies came out, if they were honest and just said he is dangerous and a nuisance then it wouldve been handled better

yeah 2million, but thats out of a population of 60 million.
A lot of the reasons that so many people oposed the war was because they didnt know the facts, and in britain the political parties go to any length to try and use anything to their advantage, so u had the 2 opposition parties making some things up which mis lead the public, as well as the government not being able to prove WMD's.
BUT saddam had terrible human rights abuses, and i think a lot of the british public would have preffered to see him toppled in the first gulf war.

Bush is trying to do what he should have done 3 years, 4 months, 10 days ago when NATO released the article that says: " an attack on one is an attck on all".
Too little too late ?
I think we had been insulted and lied for way too long. The "allies" had been treated like whores. And while we are speaking of whore, I still fail to understand what the other bitch meant when she said "punish France". Some enlightening there would be appreciated before going further.
But I don't think we are going to run for a hug just because moron Bush think it's convenient or is realizing his mistakes. It's not like that it works.
The USA is lucky the European people feel some sentiments for the USA. Else I think they would have felt the pain and see we are not only whinning pussies the hard way.

Well, have almost 4000 of your citizens die in one day and see how your intrests change. I would much rather be fighting over in Iraq, keeping the terrorist over there and pre-occupied, instead of trying to fight them over here.
But I don't expect you to understand any of this because frankly, you have no desire too.
Iraq was NOT a terrorist state.
But he is now that the USA have opened the door.

Yea, cause Iraq was SUCH a religious country to begin with....
thats why people like you should not participate in any discussion on those matters. you hardly have any knowledge about the situation, all your talking is based on emotions, prejudice and foxnews.

Oh and lets not leave the UN experts out of this. Why hell, if they would have been doing their job properly from the start, none of this would have happened. But Saddam knew the UN was a bunch of wimps that he could walk all over and thats just what he did.

You spout the Euro-propaganda line and when it's refuted you go to pieces and call people names. So predictable.

thats the point. lets assume inspectors did a bad job. uno and governments knew about this but instead of improving those inspectations like europe and rest of the world proposed, the usa said: enough of that, lets go to war. in the end it turned out that all this could have been prevented by enforcing the inspections. but now bush and other idiots stop talking about womd, but of freedom and democracy.

Of course I expected it. I'm talking to a ****ing moron. To expect anything but idiotic statements would be insanity.
I also find it funny that you have to actually make a list to remind 'yourself and others' of your orientation. rofl Short term memory problem? No. That would require you to have a brain, and you've already proven that you have none.

its wasnt 12 years for nothing. iraqi weapon programs got greatly reduced, rockets only existed in tiny amounts. no new technology was bought since desertwar1. thats result of inspectations as well. it wasnt in vain like youre insinuating. in last years, world became suspicous if iraq would be working on SMALL and secret womd program, which is been hidden from inspectors. iraq also hampered inspections. but long before the ultimatum, saddam fully cooperated and allowed inspectations all over the place. thats why blix&friends were confident of doing their job effectively.

He plans on accomplishing this:
Chirac: Le Président Bush, je vous ai détesté pendant le plus long temps,
particulièrement après votre invasion de l'Irak.
Bush: Your point?
Chirac: Après qu'ils aient tué mon ami à long terme Rafik Hariri dans
Beriut, je suis d'accord avec vous que la Syrie est maintenant un lit
de terroism.
Bush: Your point?
Chirac: Veuillez appliquer la pression implacable, même si elle signifie
prendre votre ouest de machine de guerre pour détruire les porcs.
Bush: No problem. ...I love being bilingual...actually trilingual !
Roger that. More than trilingual = polyglot since "quadlingual" sounds stupid. So that makes me a polyglot. Ah, for king and country indeed.
