LOS ANGELES - Sen. Dianne Feinstein said Friday that she will reintroduce legislation banning assault weapons after a city maintenance worker allegedly shot and killed two fellow employees with an AK-47 assault rifle. "Once again, we've seen the tragic consequences of the ready availability of assault weapons throughout our society," Feinstein, D-Calif., said in a statement.
Ummm... I thought assault rifles were already banned in California. Isn't it illegal to own an AK-47 in California? Am I missing something here? (Other than the fact that someone bent on murder isn't obeying the law anyway?)

Actually, welded magazine and bolt action AK-47s are in fact legal. None of which were used in the killing. ;)
DF isn't the brightest bulb in the pack, she just sucks a lot of mean **** and bends over for certain special interest groups. :D

The POS could have done the same damage with a bloody bolt-action but Fiendswine wont say that, as she would alienate those who hunt.
Dozy cow :bash:

Some needs to introduce the Assault Weapons Protection Act of 2005. This act implements national CCW reciprocity as well introduces a Federal CCW permit. Citizens who seek the Federal CCW permit must pass a stringent two week course in lawful use of force, terrorist interdiction and disruption, along with employment of lethal force in a variety of settings, including commercial airliners, buses, and trains. This course must be paid entirely by a citizen. Refunds will NOT be issued for anyone failing to pass. Completion of the Federal CCW Minuteman course results in the citizens' US Marshall's Reserve Commission. The citizen is then available for full border patrol duty, CCW aboard commercial aircraft etc. This reserve US Marshall's commission is a step above and beyond a citizen who merely possesses any given State's CCW permit and it's national reciprocity. The reserve US Marshall's commission entitles the holder to CCW anywhere within the USA, except for SS or US Military Secret installations.
This act also prohibits any private property owner (whether it be an individual, employer, museum, or other private property open to the public) or local, municipal, regional, or state government from prohibiting State-permitted citizens from CCWing on their property, UNLESS the following conditions are met:
1. Property owner must provide for safe, secure storage of any visitor's weapon(s).
2. Property owner is liable for the safe return of said property
3. Property owner assumes strict liability for ALL persons thus disarmed and visiting, working, or otherwise invited on the property.
The purpose of this Assault Weapons Protection Act of 2005 is to promote the immediate proximity of at least one, if not several, armed private citizens should some nut case or terrorist decide to whip out an AK-47 and start shooting.

She is a U.S Senator not a State Senator which means she will be introducing Federal legislation.

Why thank you.
Georgia was a nice place while I was there. And ****, the crime rate in Georgia was horrible! THey are allowed to have AR15's! INSANE! I mean, life here in Los Angeles, famous for it's happy streets and safe neighborhoods is just so much better.
Need I take a camera with me if I go for a walk tomorrow? People will think I'm NUTS for not carrying a gun, legal or not!

ME THREE.
In Texas, it's legal to own a semi-automatic assault rifle I believe.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
I think the US Govt should make use of private citizens at all levels of defense/and or other issues.
There is a vast resource pool from which to draw when it comes to donations from private American citizens. Terrorist inderdiction should be a govt-funded program available to all citizens, of all skill and ability. Most gun owners and/or men would go for it.
As a side note, I think US should adopt Isreali-style conscription. But I lack the specifics in regards to the effect upon the population.
Perhaps a subject for a new thread...

I still don't drink, drink tea or coffee or alchol.

I'm fully aware of the Mormans in Salt Lake. I speak to a chick on msn from there. I here it has one of the biggest gothic scenes though. So you know. The worlds not perfect. Plus the area around it has some awsome 4wd country.

Thats the thing. Despite being a left wing liberal nutcase. I aint no tree hugging hippy either.
They should make 4wd's engines bigger, better, more thirsty and make it law to have 36x17 Super Swamper tyres on them or something.

Nah, you don't NEED it, so we'll get rid of them. There is, after all, absolutely no benefit to then and in an advanced society we should understand this.
But hey, YOU WOULD vote for the witch if you were a California citizen..

no, not with a claw hammer, because then they'll want to ban them or make it where you have to have a background check and obtain a permit to carry the claw hammer. Then, no claw hammers may be concealed. Then you must put a lock on the claw hammer so it doesn't "go off" accidentially....
