This is my first field excersise with this National Guard arty unit and the howitzer is louder than i thought. It was quite a different experience from what i usually do.

FAQ: the glowing red dots are not UFO because they are alum rounds. They are actually brighter than they look but what do you expect from a POS 2 megapixel digital camera.

This is an exercise in the US right?
You have some beautifull nature over there.

I only got to see the city's of the eastcost when I was over there.
I'm hoping I get another chance to go over some time soon.

The US is one of the most (the most?) environmentally diverse countries in the world. The east is mostly woodland and some wetlands some small mountains, you have the great plains, the Rocky Mountains, desert, everything. Outside the cities it's really very beautiful.

We drove past the appalachianmountains when we went from Atlanta to DC, those where awesome (Even though we have some pretty amazing mountains in Norway as well ;) ), I heard theres a well known hiking trail going through those mountains. I'd like to try it sometime. I hear it takes like three weeks to finnish. :) Must be a helluva time.

I love Hiking. woot

The mountains of North Carolina are amazing. I used to go on vacation up there when I was little but I was born, raised and still reside in the peidmont region about 8 miles outside of the capital, Raleigh.

With regards to the arty, Im getting one for Christmas....

Yes, this excercise took place in Dugway Proving Ground, Utah. DPG is where US military test their biological, chemical weapons and other freaky experiments that nobody know about.
