Marine Gear - Woodland Clothing, Desert Helmet?

http://www4.aixgaming.com/opend/Gulf_War_2_Iraqi_Freedom_Marines Why are they wearing woodland clothing with a desert helmet? My guess is that they are wearing their woodland goretex suits or their protective NBC suits- If so, why didnt they also make those suits in 3 color desert?

.....which leads me to another question- Gear colors.. Why is it that they mix woodland and desert together? Example: Woodland armor with desert BDUs, Woodland knee/elbow pads with desert BDUs etc. This is how a fully dressed DESERT soldier should look like(username/password both "mm" excluding quotation marks:

Do you think they should get FULL DESERT/WOODLAND suits instead of mix and matching all the colors? Also, if a standard gear color were to be created, it should be Olive Drab Green or Brown which is compatible with both woodland/desert

The Marines are wearing their MOPP suits. Unfortunately, the Marines always get the older gear, so they haven't received 3-color MOPP uniforms. The helmet is desert because they don't make a MOPP helmet cover.

Actually, they have all matching gear, custom tailored etc. but they left it back in the U.S. because they only use it when they play airsoft.

Actually, my friend, it's good to have some woodland in your uniform while wearing desert. It makes you look more like a shrub at long distance (so, it's good unless you're in the Sahara or something).

The uniform should be desert with OD gear, or woodland if OD is unavailable.

obviously their camo hasn't made that big of a difference since as far as i know not that many have died because they were spotted. and it's not like the marines care about stealth here, they are rolling through iraq on apc's.

I dont appreaciate your conduct, breacher. I know that marines are given their gear. They may not have a choice to select what they want. They are issued gear. Im talking about the guys who issue them the gear. They may say to themselves, "Well gentlemen, one of the lessons we learned is that we didnt issue desert camofluage in time. What is YOUR problem? Respect? They would be better off with desert camoflauge than woodland. Would you rather them wear woodland? Support the fact that they can have better camoflauge. The reason they don't have desert camouflage on is because they're wearing MOPP gear. 3-color desert MOPP gear has only been issued to the Army, and has not yet been manufactured in MARPAT. If you've noticed, many Marines were already issued desert MARPAT (look at some of their helmet covers), but had to wear their woodland MOPP gear

Well, incase you have a problem with the word "****," I think it's appropriate that you know that it has no connections at all to religion and is only a bad word because society says so.

"****" came from the old sailing days, when horse maneur was often shipped by sea because of its use as a fertilizer. It was normally shipped dry because it starts decomposing once it becomes wet. What people didn't know is that when it becomes wet, it starts to produce methane gas. Many instances occured where the maneur was being shipped in the lower cargo holds and thus became wet from the water, and then people would walk down there with a kerosene lantern and BOOM!

Once people realized why this was happening, instructions were given for shipping maneur as "Ship High In Transit" or "****," meaning to ship it in higher cargo holds less likely to become soaked with water.
