The question why is asked repeatedly in our society. At times, it might even seem to be an overly used and useless question. Yet it remains a question that simply begs to be asked, which is likely the reason it is asked so often. It is also a question born of our innate need to understand the reasons behind the actions and attitudes of others. This would be the best reason this question is so often asked.
Lately this little word has been running around my head, and frankly, this column is much needed, by me, to let this little word why out. Therefore, here then, is the political column that just had to be written. If you wonder why, then just read it and all shall be revealed my friends.
Why are some of those who proudly call themselves Atheists so darned angry anytime someone mentions God? After all, these folks do not believe in God so why the outrage? Perhaps they truly do believe deep down and are afraid to admit it? Maybe the truth does really hurt no matter how much they deny it.
Why do some Atheists seem so fearful of Christians forcing their religion on to them? Every time they see, or hear, anything remotely linked to religion they start screaming about separation of church and state, and their rights being violated. Why the fear? Perhaps, my friends it is because they are so intolerant of anything religious that they assume religious people are as intolerant as they are. Perhaps they assume Christians are as intent on forcing religion on Atheists as these people are about erasing all vestiges of Christianity.
Why do people like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and the leadership of the NAACP continue to paint America as a racist country desperately needing them to protect Blacks? Why do they constantly blame Conservatives and White males for everything negative in the Black community? Why do they seem to be more intent on dividing people than fixing the problems facing Blacks?
Perhaps they are simply looking out for their job security. Face it these people make their living by dividing the races and conning Black Americans into believing they need to be saved from racism. The fact, which most of America understands, is racism is largely non-existent and what is left is fading fast. The need, which was once very real, to protect minorities from bigotry, is greatly reduced. If the self-proclaimed leaders of Black America ever allow that truth to reach their constituents, the need for them will be done. Then they might have to get real jobs, and they are very opposed to that idea.
Why do the representatives of the NAACP, or NOW, always appear angry? They never smile or laugh on TV do they? I would suppose seeming upset and distraught helps them to paint an image of an ugly, hostile America where minorities still need saving by these far-left groups.
Why do groups like the NAACP still obsess over the Confederate flag? They freely admit there are far more important problems facing Blacks in America today. Problems like crime, education, out-of-wedlock births, and gangs. Yet they spend valuable time trying to erase history instead of actually helping any Black American. Once again, they are more concerned with supporting their favorite nation, Donation, than with moving forward.
Why do those in favor of abortion on demand still cling to the outdated and scientifically bankrupt notion that abortion does not kill the unborn baby? Ultrasounds do not lie and neither do medical facts. The debate over whether or not each human life begins at conception is not even close. Yet, pro-choicers still are clinging to the notion that pregnancy does not involve a baby until birth somehow. They would rather think that birth magically produces human life instead of accepting medical facts. Perhaps they care more about how they feel about abortion than with the facts. Perhaps being wrong and endorsing murder feels better than accepting facts and preserving human life?
Why do organizations like the Million Mom March, which has a membership far, far below a million, continue to push radical gun control? The evidence that guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens not only does not increase violent crimes, but actually reduces violent crime, is overwhelming. Yet these people continue to make up statistics and tell outright lies about guns and concealed carry permit holders. Perhaps they are allowing feelings to override logic and reason. Perhaps they are so delusional as to think that disarming Americans will help when every bit of evidence shows that philosophy to be dead wrong.
Why are so many Americans so intent on believing there is a right not to ever be offended? We are constantly running to the government or to a judge to soothe our bruised feelings. Why can we not to get over ourselves and grow up? What is the infatuation so many have with acting like spoiled children every time we hear or see something that offends us. Perhaps we have become a society that is so self-absorbed that we think our feelings matter more than liberty. Perhaps we have become so spoiled and coddled that we cannot realize that living in a free society means some things will invariably offend us.
Why are some people so offended when anyone suggests that men and women might, hold your breath now, actually be different? Isn’t the idea that the sexes are different simply common sense? Yet if anyone dares to raise a discussion about the differences feminists go berserk and start demanding people be fired and publicly castigated for simply trying to have an intelligent discussion. Perhaps the feminists are frustrated at being so wrong so often. Perhaps they are just losing their ability to talk or think rationally.
There are many other questions driving me crazy like why do so many radio talk hosts have shrill, or nasal voices? Why do televangelists continue to have those hairstyles? Why do their wives look like Mary Kay attacked them? Why do some people not tip? And on and on.
Those however will have to wait my friends for a future column. For now consider the questions raised, and answered in this piece, and remember to always be willing to ask why.
