Spray-painted anti-war slogans washed from monument's base
OTTAWA (CP) — Vandals spray-painted anti-war slogans on the National War Memorial early this morning, just hours before Remembrance Day ceremonies were to begin.
Police said that just before 5:30 a.m., black spray paint was used to deface the base of the memorial.
Staff from the National Capital Commission erased the slogans with a pressure washer.

It is such a shame people do things like that. What a disrespect to the people who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country and all of those who have fought for it. Damn the individuals who commit such acts!

F**k them. they don't deserve the least bit of attention. Polls show Remembrance day is gaining in signification among the population, in part because of the war in Afghanistan.

Well whoever the cowards were I hope the mention it to someone and it piss's them off and they get boot-f*cked for it...many brave people died so they can live peacefully here today....and to do something like that is like pissing on there graves....How can they call themselves Canadians is beyond me?

Moral standards or not... vandalising the memory of soldiers was just ignorant and misdirected. The soldier doesn't choose to make war.. the government does. The human garbage that did this is not just deserving of a beating for the action, but should be tarred and feathered for being idiots. If I had my way.. morons like that would be beaten on an annual basis so their broken bloodied bodies would have time to heal for the next beating. :bash: :fork: :slap:

i dont care who they are or what they did no matter WHO they were, underground is holy ground, all is past. if someone dug up spiers gravesite and brought it to me via a big ass fedex i still wouldnt piss on it. its over with, people who cant let that go and dont have that human respect i just wont treat like a human. god save the fool, hope it never happens in public.
messing up memorials to slake your stance on government and politics, calling soldiers baby killers, then the next day, month, year, calling them heroes for saving your miserable ass or righting a wrong, or helping locally with disasters etc, hypocracy at its finesest.
why dont you go sit in front of a senators home? spray paint his fence? at the very least for the utterly logic impaired i would never piss on the militant wing of the governments memorial if i wanted to live another day. these people are such a sham and a broken irony.

When you open that page your browser(any kind of browser i should say) tries to download that picture, server with that pic is checking who whant that picture using http protocol and what browser do you use, then editing that pic on fly and you got what you see.
