The French is a GIPN member (French local SWAT), not GIGN... ;)

And the Greek is a EKAM member, Greece's counter-terrorrists unit. He is armed with a G36 apparently. Interresting... :)

About the gun - in my opinion it is shortened G36 buttstock, so this gun is probably 5,56m G36C assault rifle.

how is that .50 cal? what do miniguns use, anyway?

Vance

Those look like 7.62mm rounds, .50 Cal rounds are MUCH bigger.

Seoul: Miniguns use 7.62mm rounds.

Depends on which one. The one mounted on helicopters fires 7.62mm, but if you look at those bullets, they look like they're about half an inch in diameter. I could be wrong though.

yeah, then it definitely has to be 7.62mm rounds. and helicopters don't use .50 cal anymore: higher rate of fire is needed to cover an area, and .50 cal can't supply that high rate.

compare the diameter with his finger. it looks like it's between .25 and .33 inches. -->.30 in = 7.62 mm :P

Those rounds are 7.62mm. They are probably for an M-240.

FYI, the USMC has been testing a new version of the .50 for use in rotary wing aircraft. It is designated the m-3, and it has a soft mount, so that the recoil is absorbed. ROF - around 1100 RPM. Nice... :D

I SAY NO. If we retire our troops now, it would mean that those assholes that did this mess have won. We have to stay to demonstrate them we aren't afraid and we will continue to help iraqi people like we did 'til today.
