Im actully curious becuase I remember about a year ago, before I was a member, this site would have tonnes of pics, great info, and interesting topics. Now, the images are posted less and less, oppionions are "wrong", and posts are deemed anti-american, not thought provoking.

This site has formed little cliques segregating other members. Ultimately, it is not a friendly enviroment. The worst of all, this site has become flooded with stupid threads that have little or nothing to do with the army, or politics. The humor section, and genreral topics are used more then the military ones!!!!

I wasn't blaming solely you, but you aren't helping solve this problem that you've deemed existant.

I don't think this site is as good as it was when I first joined, but arguments and hostilities are bound to happen as it grows. I don't care about the off-topic section. If you don't like it, stay away from it and don't worry about it.

People deeming posts "anti-American" isn't the only problem. Almost everybody (myself included) is fighting against everybody. Euros fight against Americans, Americans fight against Euros, Euros fight against Euros, Americans fight against Americans, it's a battle royale.

What is needed in my opinion is more moderators to try to "promote" more "healthy" discussions. And even that can't do everything.

That's why there's the Off Topic forum. So the other boards will maintain their military oriented threads. I read what everyone in here writes and sometimes question their motivations but not their right to say it. I think the "Best fighting knife" threads come out of people trying too hard to contribute to the forum in a "military" fashion. What the hell. Maybe if Saberducimus et al stir the pot, the responses will raise the bar and make a few people think. Then again, I'm wearing a nitroglycerin patch ;)

I don't think the site is going down hill. Hood is doing a tremendous job of making it a really good place to discuss all kinds of topics, and it's still a great source of pictures. :)

What I do think has deteriorated, is some of the participants self control and lack of maturity. There are adult (supposedly) members here who lack the maturity of some of our 15 and 16 year old members.

Maybe the fix isn't in changing the site, but in showing a bit more respect and maturity in our discussions. :petting:

Some of us have been through the whole, "this site is going to the dogs...," thing several times, and it seems that the fix lies in showing oneanother a bit more courtesy and using some self restraint. Try disagreeing politely for a change (some of you, not all).

Anyway, just my two cents. :| G

I have to say.. dicamus19 is a part of the problem. Not to pass any of the responsibility from others (including myself.) Too much arguement and no one seems to want to listen. I get in some pretty heated discussions with some people.. pinkeye.. and some others. Many of them because of some pretty biased viewpoints from both ends... but generally they are discussions with one side or the other conceding truths ever once in a while. dicamus19 flatly won't concede and simply soaks in his own ignorance. I know it sounds like an insult but that is what I see in many of your posts. This one seems like a refreshing break from the norm. I have to admit I am like most and enjoy the conflict in many of the flames that go on here. Too much though.. there is entirely too much and any attempt at an honest, open, discussion, dies as the more inflammatory ones take spotlight. It is human nature I guess. As much as I like to bash dicamus19, ode, and others.. it is a sad state that those kinds of interactions take away from the ones that are intelligent.

In just today's posts I noticed the following: Russians vs. Poles, Israelis vs. Palestinians, Scandanavians vs. U.S., Canadians vs. U.S., Germany vs. U.S., France vs. everyone, neo-conservatives vs. ultra-liberals, peaceniks vs. warriors, sophomoric humor, but great photos! So I would have to say www.militaryphotos.net has certainly matured into an interesting site if at times off-topic.

The name calling, America bashing, childish rants and immaturity aside, it's still worth visiting, but, like others have already said, the teenage overflow (not all of them because several are very mature) from the airsoft category, the influx of very nationalistic members from all nations who are quick to take offense at any suggestion of wrongdoing by their country, and the fact that several people just post to push their "rank" higher sometimes makes one stay away from the fray.

But, hey, it's only the Internet!

Looks like there was a similar SAVE MP.NET era a couple years ago!This board is what the people in here make it. There are plenty of others on the Net. I know of no other board that has such a broad range of interest areas from which to choose. You can look at a few pics of tanks, get into an argument about containment vs. regime change, ogle a bit of T & A, speculate on the best place to visit, look at a bit more T & A, whine about how bad MP.net sux these days...
