US Army Solider Injured by Rock
Sgt. Brian Allender, 30, of Ontario, points out the young man who he said hit in the mouth with a rock during an Alpha Company, 1st Platoon, visit to Al Sus, a village south of Kirkuk, on February 12, 2005. The youth was detained and brought to Forward Operation Base Warrior in Kirkuk for processing.

Man is Detained by US Army in Iraq
1st Lt. Eric Vandewalle, left, 35, of Aberdeen, Wash., and Sgt. 1st Class Wayne Chastain, 29, of Baker City, walk a young man toward a Humvee on Saturday, February 12, 2005 in the village of Al Sus near Kirkuk. The youth was detained after he was accused of hitting Sgt. Brian Allender, a gunner with Alpha Company's 1st Platoon, in the face with a rock.

Some lousy media jackass would have caught it all on tape and you'd be run up n charges of "unprovoked assault" of an "innocent boy" and villified. 14 layers of superior officers would ream you for the anal investigation they would receive, and youd end up in levenworth for 15 years with a dishonorable discharge at the end.

Unfortunately, the US Army, and other services find their selves in a position of fighting a battle for, the hearts, minds, and respect of the Iraqis, but also that of the people back home.

In that area of the world they lose respect for not blowing the little punk godless Democrat away. But as many in the US can not fathom such action, and the young man would have been in a great deal of trouble if he had not conducted himself as he did (and from the looks of it he did a great job).

Oh did I say that, I am deeply sorry for having upset any Godless Punk Democrats, and am considering rephrasing that part of my post. Again I am deeply sorry for having only offended any specific Godless Punk Democrats.

Hells in the US law enforcement people get into trouble for restraining someone resisting arrest.

Iraqis or not Iraqis, if any ****er throws a rock in my face, i'd beat the **** out of him. What's heart and mind have anything to do with this? If you do that **** to a police officer here in the state, he'll greet you with a baton on your skull.

We had problems with rock throwers ourselves. We fixed it when our terps starting picking up rocks and throwing them back. That's how we did child crowd control from then on!


Wanna talk about scary, we had a kid walk up and stab a Ragnar with a syringe! No viruses and what not but man did we almost kill that kid! He was still arrested and kept in the pain-cave until it was proven that there was nothing in the syringe!

That`s why you should systematically restrain and blindfold anyone, ANYONE, you arrest.
The intelligence people are here to make their selection afterward.

Those kids are a real problem, because they are at the age of dumbness, when their occidental and spoiled western european or american homologues are playing their game station or copycating the Jackass of MTV. Those kids have nothing else to do of their day, and live in inciting environement gloryfying suicide bombing and the "strategic" role of kids pelting soldiers with stones.
Obviously, you cannot shoot them, and even detaining them, arresting them might proove problematic, but on the other hand, they represent a real threat, either by gathering intelligence, or by the projectiles they throw at you, they can provoke pretty nasty wounds.

Yes actually there's a few of them. The only one I can remember off-hand is Ontario, California. But I would'nt be surprised if there's an Ontario located in all the states Lurch just listed. ;)

Excellent restraint, as should be expected.
Was a kid afterall, shoulda done what the brits did and get his dad (if he had one alive) involved too and let his dad do the whooping.

Could have been worse though, could have taken him into the hills while the tv cameras watched and started to break his arms with rocks like another nations armed forces did a while back.

Holy **** man what was that kid thinking :roll: did he just run up and stick him or where they in a big crowd or something? I bet this Ranger was praying for his life, I can only imagine what was running through his head while he was waiting for the results of this test, I would be ****ting myself for sure. I'm glad to hear that this soilder is fine and thank you for sharing another one of your fine storys from "over there".

That's pretty screwed up dude. Pretty sure a syringe can be considered a lethal weapon... glad your dude was ok.

sorry what I meant to add was that lethal weapon = lethal force allowed. A close relative of mine got jabbed by a needle adminstering an IV. Dude was homeless and walked off. relative had to go on meds anti HIV meds for 6 weeks and take a blood test every 2 weeks. It was a scary ass time.. took him 6 months to be cleared of all disease. Getting jabbed f*^@(@# sucks.
Surprised the rangers didn't use greater force...
