Okay, I have a quick question on this. If a Soldier on the Army side (actual soldier) get shot, he pulls out a card and shows it to a medic. What exactly is on the card? Photos of the actual card would be awesome. Or just information on that.
Thanks

A type of injury so that the medics can practice too.
Anything from hit in the arm to, femoral, to sucking chest, to "you dead m-f-er".
Although there are othes here who have been to NTC recently....and may be able to give more detail about the whole process.

That's kind of what I thought it was. I'm working on a system such as this for airsoft.

Be sure to include the casualty cards that mention pregnancy and broken eyeglasses... ;)
I think I once got pregnant at JRTC.

In USMC I had a card once that read "Sucking chest wound, patient is going into shock". It was just a regular notecard that someone wrote on with a sharpy.
So will the airsofter medics know CLS stuff? Will they have to know how to give an IV, place a airway and call down a medavac? Will they be trained in FR type stuff at all?
Just wondering!

Yah
Stop bleeding
Start Breathing
Treat Wound
Prepare for shock
or something like that...

Check for responsiveness, breathing, bleeding, shock, fractures, burns, head wounds (in that order). And of course, at the end, seek medical help.
Wow. Just goes to show that drill sergeants will make you remember for a long, long time.

Remeber your ABC's. (Inside joke for any Army medics) Those casualty cards are a crock. No one ever used them. At NTC and JRTC we always trained for GSW's and IV's. Thank you lawn darts!

Actually, we used them during my two rotations at JRTC and at Fort Drum. (Could just be who's in charge.)
Depending on the series of the cards, there may be medical and tactical information, such as: "(M) Soldier has upper leg wound / RT Thigh. Unable to walk. Must recieve medical care within 30 minutes. (T) Can communicate fully and direct troops. Cannot fire weapons.
I got into a pissing contest with an OC (Observer Controller - basically an umpire.) after I was hit by an OPFOR guy who never fired his weapon. "YOU'RE DEAD!" Uh, no. That's not what my card says. Hey, there's OPFOR moving behind the ridge! "YOU CAN'T TALK!" Uh, no. That's not what my card says.
Kept it up for another five minutes before he came over and ordered me to die. (Dink!)
If you're making your own cards, as mentioned above, specify the wound, what the participant can and can't do and if the wound is severe, give a medical "must recieve attention" time.
(There's a few jokes sets running around as well - "Bedwetter - Must call for your mommy at least three time each minute")
