Terrorists? Maybe more likely to be "Freedom Fighters" but these insurgents are usually non-Iraqi's, so probably they're more likely to be EXTREMISTS. Just think of it, China invading USA, then the chinese will call The American "freedom fighters" = Insurgents or terrorists... HA!

We need to expand in order to survive, I believe in this. I hope America will unite this world in one Flag. So we can start spending our freaking Military budgets to the poor and needy and start to see what's in Space for us... Theory, I don't know. I hope not

Ermmmm Freedom of Speech, I'm thinking of what I'm saying, that is why I've come up into a conclusion of "freedom fighters" so don't go against me, I'm not against you or anyone of the coalition, but just expressing my personal views, so next time please think of what you are going to post and think before you post something "like that" quite offensive but yes, that's your own opinion on what I have said. so that's okay. :backhand:

After 40 post you have become the resident Iraqi expert?

Every now and again someone new comes along and makes the same rhetorical statements,"They're not Insurgents or Terrorists, they're Freedom Fighters"

Well which part of Freedom would this be?Because they've never made such demands, instead they behead men ,women and lately children, who's only guilt is to try and earn a wage to feed and clothe their families.
Even after they took their first democratic steps forward, they were slaughtered in their scores,by suicide bombers who are not even Iraqi!!
Their great self proclaimed leader is a Jordanian.........what the fok has he got to do with what the people of Iraq want.?.....................a big fat zero, that's what.............so before you start shooting your mouth off about Iraq............use the search key,or better still, don't make comments you don't know **** about!!

LOL,I'm well and just arrived back in Scotland for my monthly leave.

Basrah and the Southern region is like another country within Iraq, different attitudes, and much more friendlier locals, biggest threat is Ali Babba's on the roads, compared to the hustle bustle and mayhem of the Triangle!!

Argyll

Probably a culmination of incidents, you just wouldn't believe how hard it is to kill 2-3 men in an open engagement, never mind 24!!

03-21-2005, 09:42 PM
I'm just telling you what "I think" and sharing it from the rest of you, It's ok wheter or not to accept it, I'm totally Okay with it. Just want to let you guys know that America, should somehow consider other Nation's objection, America isn't the only country in the world. It's just a super power that in 30-50 years time would be replaced by China. We are all humans.

Argyll, I think you know it well, that in Guerilla warfare, we tend to kill and demoralize people who works with the "enemy" so I guess this is what the non-Iraqi "terrorists" are doing right now, I'm not an anti-war freak but I like discussing things and atleast letting other people know what I think. I totally disagree with the beheading, including a colleague Daniel Pearl who works for WSJ who was killed in Pakistan while reporting, because they thought he was an Israeli agent.

I think you should see the "core" of these people's thinking, muslims tend to be hardcore, from my experience and they just simply don't accept things that easily and you know what, they think Iraq is Arab Land, well undoubtly it is, so they will fight for what they believe in and I respect that, everyone has his/her pride.

Freedom fighters they are not, patriots they are not, hell... I don't even know if insurgent fits... I think these bastards are terrorists; flat out. I can see them being insurgents if they only attacked coalition troops. It is soo stupid when people try to say the are freedom fighters, or they relate them to my founding fathers, they couldn't be farther from those great freedom fighters. Hell, they are killing women and children, beheading people just for talking with American troops, even killing barbers for giving haircuts, basically they are denying people their freedom to live as they want to live their lives.

There is a phrase...
"One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter."

but when the other man is Bin Laden/ Zarqawi/ Al Sadr...then I think that says alot about how "honorable" these "freedom fighters" must be.

Most often it's true though; there are allways people who support these terrorists. I don't want to comment on the amount of braincells these people still have, though. ;)

Very good job on this 'ambush'. When an ambush is carried out well, no man will walk away from it, but this is a classic example of how it can go wrong. They failed to create confusion (by blowing up the lead vehicle for example) and had poor cover (from what I can read in the news).

Freedom fighters? What kind of "freedom fighters" attack polling places and intimidate free business?

You dont see the big picture usa320.

Those people who attack polling places and intimidate people are NOT freedom fighters but are terrorists plain and simple. But if one gets a rifle to fight off a foreign army in his country that is a freedom fighter ( assuming he isnt into terrorist behaviour and intimidation).

The thing is in Iraq there are both freedom fighters and terrorists. Some people ( doctors , lawyers and others) have taken arms to try to free their country... While other ****bags are blowing themselves up and imtimidating people... Some of these freedom fighters are just ordinary people lawyers, school teachers etc...

If some nation invaded my country and I took a rifle to try to attempt to boot them out would I be called a terrorist ?
The situation in Iraq is different a bit because we have both terrorists and freedom fighter trying to liberate Iraq.

Just saw some footage of this fierce battle from both viewpoints. Hats off the reserve unit who stood their ground and returned fire. Their convoy got hammered pretty hard and yet no one got killed. What was amazing was that a Humvee got struck by a RPG in the top with a man in the turrent and he survived practically unscathed.
