As we all know, al qaeda and other terrorist assholes use the internet to spread their messages of hate and murder, as well as sometimes they put out there clues as to where they will strike next and how. FBI, MI5/6, Mossad, all these guys watch these webpages to see if they can get any bit of pre attack intel, (the famous "chatter" they always talk about) but it doesnt seem to help much. So what I propose is that we, the users of this message board do some of the work for them. There are tons of these jihadi sites out there, just like the ummah.com message board I have talked about before, which talk about everything from how to put together a car bomb, to straight up call for jihad against Israel, the Russians, Americans, English, now Japanese, and other threats. One of those damn sites use to carry the murder of Daniel Pearl in .asf format...gruesome stuff. If we either under some kind of organizational structure or not, started monitoring these enemy webpages, we may help law enforcement/intel in preventing an attack. A listing of links is here http://worldofislam.info/ as well as http://kavkazcenter.com/eng/ and jihadunspun.com I have to say, jihad unspun is almost funny in their waaaay off facts. They said that a blackhawk could carry well over 75 troopers in it and that we 'actually' lost around 50 in the downed blackhawk 1/1/2 weeks ago. Anyway, lets see what we can do. Maybe one day a week we can pull our efforts together and see what we have all pulled off of these sites, and make it into some clear facts in which we can transmit to FBI or anyone else. Its only an idea, but it could help out our country no matter if you are from the US, Russia, Poland, Israel, Turkey, India or anywhere else.

Physical server of "kavkazcenter" is located in Lithuania, a country which is a close ally of the US and EU. When Lithuanian security officials confiscated the server, because of its obvious terrorist content, their actions were dismissed by the court. The court stated that it was "oppression of freedom of speech" and ordered them to return the server!!
As soon as America and Europe stop their double standards, I'm sure there will be some progress.
this is about the most stupid idea ever
i've got a better idea; since the coalition is kind of struggling in the war on terror, lets all go down to texas, buy lots of guns and ammo, then get some decent gear and let's all go 'lend a hand' to the us and kill some terrorists on our own... woot

Hey! That's a great idea! I feel like killing some sand-monkeys today anyway. So, when are we leaving? woot

If you want to look at the sites, that's your choice, but it will probably result in your computer, and even you, being monitored more closely by law enforcement/intelligence officials. Thanks for the idea though. Have a good one, and just some thoughts...

I'm with Tane....sure its a good idea n all but I'm sure the CIA has it covered. Last thing I need is to be remotely monitored even more (looks around all paranoid...there out to get me I tell ya)

If everyone on the entire bloody internet monitors these sites, and these sites get hundreds of hits a day with all sorts of "suspicious" referers; they'll notice and stop posting!

I'm thunderstrucked... This idea I would compare to the guy with the funny mustache who came up with an idea in 1941: "Heyyyy,...let's invade Russia."
If you think that you with your $ 2000-3000 computer can find the needle hidden in one of the 30 000 000 000 hay stacks. Go on! CIA and any other agency only got billions up on billions of Dollars and the man craft to follow it up with.
But it is fun to have a dream. Can't take that away.
Your heart is in the right place but by increasing traffic on these sites you'd just make it a bigger job for the NSA to do theirs. (unless of course a poster here is actually heavily involved with terrorism, in which case, go right ahead and go to these sites and give you address and phone number and the next target... :-) )

I visit a lot of extremest sites its an interest of mine, but to scan theses sites for info and then feed it to the FBI is just a plain waste of time. Traffic analysis depts in intel have enough work on their hands at the moment, a well intentioned suggestion Nizark but I think it would hurt more than help. :|

It would definately hurt. Having to sort through all these sites is one thing but a bunch of amateurs like us bombarding agencies with our conspiracy theories would be borderline spam to those agencies. Don't be complacent though. Good intent... bad idea.

I don't know about the US agencies but I have a close friend working for a state agency in France, monitoring the Internet for extreme right wing/nazi enthousiasts. I won't enter into details but I can tell you they don't care about people visiting a monitored site once in a while... But if you are an avid registered participant to any of their forum, then you will draw their interest and yes, they will add you to their database...
And I have no doubt this Militaryphotos.net Forum is more or less monitored by some agencies somewhere in the world ;)

shut you up! lies lies! ;)
actually doesnt the US have that project echelon computer taxing away at that with some smart ass programming that even looks for code words or ways in which terrorists might hide messages? also i saw on discovery, they have a internet task force charged with watching for terrorist hack atempts at US agencies and business that might disrupt the economy, they track and trace all that stuff, id assume they have the same for monitoring sites that are flagged by computers for having certain content and brought to investigators under certain priorities.
i dig what your saying nizark, but i wouldnt worry about it unless the government asked us for it.
you know how after 9/11 they asked if you see anyone doing certain things that may be suspicious in such and such a way, please contact so and so, and even that system was abused by pranksters etc although im sure they have monitor phones which can tell if the average joe is lying or not. the current lie detector phones work pretty good, judging exasperation levels etc, the governments prolly got cooler ones.[/list]
