BAGHDAD, Iraq - Shopkeepers and residents on one of Baghdad's main streets
pulled out their own guns Tuesday and killed three insurgents when hooded
men began shooting at passers-by, giving a rare victory to civilians
increasingly frustrated by the violence bleeding Iraq.
...
A forceful citizen response is rare but not unheard of in a country where
conflict has become commonplace and the law allows each home to have a
weapon. Early this month, police said, townsmen in Wihda, 25 miles south
of Baghdad, attacked a group of militants believed to be planning to raid
the town; the townsmen killed seven.

Way to introduce yourself. Fine, be bitter about it. Not gonna bother arguing with you. Surprised to see growing areas of success in Iraq? Too bad. It's happening. What's the problem?

sorry for my poor english not my mother tongue,

Just taking carefully news like this one.
It's a little bit dangerous for iraqis to use a gun in a street if they're not
from the guerilla... the "Amirikies" are a little bit " chouilla chouilla " nervous and open fire very quickly... sometimes too.

The battle in Tharthar lake is more interesting if you want to arguing about CT success in Iraq.

I'm not ripping you for your grammar. You're not the only one here with a different first language.

This story, however is true. And other stories have been popping up, as well. ICTF are being trained and running ops, SWAT team is full swing, running missions on its own, etc. No matter how much the media will try to hide it, things are improving greatly in Iraq. Sure, there's work to be done! But it doesn't discount the work that has been done.

Thanks for responding ina calm manner. ;)
