One of the best special forces in anti-guerrilla warfare. Gained experience after years of fighting guerrilla groups in Guatemala. Countries from latin america send offciers to receive training by them. p-)

Have you spent any time in Guatemala, indreal_d? I've been there a lot, as well as several other Latin American countries, between the years 1984 and 2002.

The Kaibil have a very dodgy past as far as a number of Human rights associations are concerned....

You are absolutely correct, fantassin. Just because they are talented soldiers doesn't mean they're necessarily good people. I just hope that with the "end" of the civil war, human rights will improve. There will always be disparities between rich/poor and Latinos/indigenous, but I hope the situation will not go back to what it was like in the 80's.

Good soldiers. It's a pity though that more than half of the pics are PR pics.

No, unfortunately I'm not, but I have a few friends from Guatemala so I know well the situation there...

I once dated a chick who was a sergeant in the Guatemalan Army. She worked at the Guatemalan Army museum. Too bad I didn't date her long enough to take advantage of her access to all the cool weapons they have!

In reference to the M240 "Rambo" pose, Guatemaltecos are Latinos, and as you know, Latino men have that "macho thing"...
As far as US Special Forces and other advisors going to Guatemala, I don't know. In my experience, I only met Israeli or civilian mercs there as military advisors.
