Due to the mass amount of pictures, I've only added captions to pictures that really need them.

I personally wish Mr Bush a good time here in the UK, and it's just a shame that he can't visit the rest of GB due to a few, well, idiots. :)

My fellow Brits explain to me this. In Britain its hard to get ahold of hands (well guns period) some cops (Bobbies if you prefer) don't even carry them. But every pic iv seen of British cops they're always packing an MP5.

They do, they just hate Bush. Remember after 9/11.. they broke tradition and their military band played the American Anthem. A lot of them feel that they were tricked into the war by Bush.. so, eh. And most Americans love the Brits too.. except if they try to cook for us, then we'll know they really hate us.

I seen this hippy before at that place, gave him the finger when I went past there a few months ago. It's strange they hasn't been arrested for making London look like a trash pile. l think you`ll find Gods Son,take your head outta yer hairy arse, that we in the UK do indeed love you Yankees :D

It`s just a small percentage of the population that are either misinformed, working to sause chaos within the system or down right supporters of Terrorism that are indeed Anti American.

Doesn`t help though that we`ve allowed our Once Sacred Septer Island,to be invaded by all these buggers from across the world, bringing THERE traditions & ways & forcing the UK to adopt them.

After all our Goverments wouldn`t dare do ANYTHING that may label them as RASCIST or POLITICALLY INCORRECT. The UK alas has gone PC mad & these Unwelcomed guests/Mis-informed/Working or Supporters of terrorists & Oppressive leaders/Pattsies for the Media/Homo******s,Have taken advantage of the PC UK & well we`re on a roller coaster to HELL :(

So Take heed, the US is our friend & so is BUSH. If one leader won`t stand up,who will, certainly NOT the French (who are led by the nose by Germany) or any other European country,Nor the UN as there in it for the Money.

It will almost always come down to the US & UK to be the defenders & keepers of what`s RIGHT. Also Iraq makes a better base of Ops for the Mid-East ;) As we can finally tell the Saudies what we truely think of them :D

So please, please don`t think the UK hates you, just the Corrupt & Stupid Liberals & Terrorist/Oppressor Lover groups do hate you.Add to that the Students (as it`s there God Given right to Protest & then get pissed & have *** sessions,or at least in my day it was :D ).

One thing i would like to add to this 'conversation', those protestors do not speak for the majority of Britain, infact more people support the recent visit than oppose it according to recent polls. It is very annoying that the vocal minority are taken as a spokesman for the opinion of the UK, i am an englishman myself and have not seen one die hard anti-bushist expressing their views, infact many of the people i have spoken to are glad of the relationship Britain has with America and are happy that the war in Iraq has happened. There are infact a very small minority protesting, in a city of 14 million there are only tens of thousands protesting. There really is not as much anti-americanism in Britain as news reports would lead you to believe.

Just because the pro-war, pro-american lobby in Britain do not take to the streets does not mean we do not exist.

" Is Iraq another Vietnam ? " This question regularly arise on this Forum, which I usually find is a nonsense from a military point of vue but seeing what is happening in London and reading all the "arguments" that have been written about the protestors, I can say from what happens in London, yes, this is another Vietnam.

It seems the " hard hats " are in force on this forum with an instinctive hate for the so-called "Hippies" and gays...

you can't forget the flag for the gay and lesbian alliance.

Really? and from what orifice did you pull that tidbit of information?

Protestors have the same excessive slogans than in Detroit, Chicago, Washington, Berkeley, London, Paris or Berlin 37 years ago and no wonder why we see so many 50 years old men and women on pictures, they probably are the same that demonstrated againt President Johnson in their early twenties...

History is repeating itself.

I wish nobody will get hurt and no damage done to the city of London because extremists from both sides are getting so excited to show up...

Go luck to the British law enforcement officers, they have hard days ahead. woot

Protestors could be elusive and undercovered ;)

To our allies across the pond, we know we are on the same side. Been that way for quite some time now, so don't worry about the press's portrayal of the UK as a bunch of 1960's hippies. Here State side we have stopped watching the nightly news/CNN and reading the papers, and that is despite the lame efforts of the likes of Gods SoN (did you catch that, he is begging us to go back and watch the news, HA!).

All the same, I WANT HOOLIGAN PICS!

Socialist Worker
and the Party the Socialist workers Party who flog there dammed newspaper turn up at any demo for any reason mostly to either recruit new members or sell there stupid newspaper. There loathed by the left and hippys etc because thats all they ever do. The majority of protestors will be law abiding people appalled by the war. They may be naive or wrong trouble is out of all those that march there will be 1% knuckleheads who will try to have ago at the police because there hard corp anarchists or more likely they got tanked up and fancy a ruck.
So poor old plod wades in to stop these cretins and a whole load of peace loving people go away saying the police behaved badly.
Once had a friend went to folkstone to have ago at the National front spotted this bloke with a very short haircut going into a pub rushed up to him with crys of Bash the Nazi only to discover the pub was full of 3 Para.
slightly confused about being called Nazis but any excuse for a brawl. socialist resistance flee folkstone in there 2CV. moral of this story time spent in recon is never wasted :P

I live near folkstone. Inbreds, bit like the Isle of White but not quite as bad. Definately not up on the scale with Sheppy though.

Back to hippies though, i went into a flat the other night and it had some anti-Bush posters and stuff on the walls. Fair enough everybody is entitled to an opinion. Then i looked at the people, (this was a uni flat) 2 of them had been kicked out and were sleeping on the kitchen floor, there were drugs everywhere. They looked like a bunch of long haired unwashed freaks. The only good thing going for them was some quality beer.

I would say most British like America. You will of course get the usual suspects demonstrating but hey its a democracy so what do you expect. You should be proud of the fact that we allow the right to protest and will defend that right even if we don't agree with the protesters.
With regards to heads of states visits to America there have been lots of protests by Irish America on visits by our Royal Family some have even goten close enough to ask embarassing questions!
As to British Police being armed for the visit it is only a minority of officers who are armed the Vast majority of British police officers do not carry fire arms the only 2 permantley armed forces in the UK as far as I am aware are the Police service of Northern Ireland(formerly Royal Ulster Constabulary (the best police force in the world)) and the UK Atomic energy authority police. I would trust a British police man with a firearm much quicker than i would trust a secret serviceman or any US law enforcement officer.
