maybe because supply is limited and demand is high

are you going to buy one? if not, is it really a big concern? there are better knives for markedly less.

Just wondering what makes this twice (or more) as expensive as an M9 when they both do basically the same job.

It's pricey because it's new. Remember how much Pentium 2 500mhz processors cost when they first came out? 1500$ American.

Probably because Camillus is making them brand-new. Wait until "Industries for the Blind" or someone else starts making them. You'll see the price drop after that.
