Speaking of getting beat down by some Polizei..

I lived in Germany for a couple of years, when I was younger, and I remember climbing this ladies cherry tree..I lived on an American base, and she lived right over the fence..So, anyway, me and my brother and some friends decide to do this "cherry tree" thing and low and behold...She called the polizei on us..When they got there they started shouting at us in German..We didn't know what the hell they were saying..Long story short....They freakin' shot us with rock salt out of a shotgun thingie..I got it in the hip..My bro got it in the leg and arm, and fell out of the tree to boot..Man..what a day. They called my dad, who happened to be a SGT MAJOR at the time..We got our asses handed to us...

When they protest what's the point in acting like an idiot? throwing rocks and blowing **** up doesn't help their cause, and who pays the damage? the taxpayer.

The reason for gathering together in large groups and waving signs and chanting is to get people's attention to something you think is important. The motive behind violence is exactly the same.

When McDonalds' start buring, and the police bring out the tear gas; politicians and the media pay attention (note: I am not supporting rioting or protester violence).

When the Seattle WTO riots took place, CNN and newspapers were all abuzz about these violent anarchist groups breaking plate glass storefront windows. When was the last time you heard about anarchists otherwise? Riots are an effective method of getting heard; that's why they keep happening.
