It appears to be very similar to the American Land Warrior system, only it is made in Israel and not Taiwan like ours *sarcasm*

But seriously Israel has its own very advanced Land Warrier program which is based on the new Israeli tavor……what you saw in the video is not a Land Warrior type of a project but it is to upgrade and improve existing systems

With them having cameras that are amazingly small and thin, I'm surprised that they're using such a bulky one here.

I think it's pretty much a fact that Israeli-made technologies are better than US-made, hence why Israeli aircraft all have Israeli-made avionics.

I wouldnt say that any country produces "better" avionics than in our aircraft but it would be logical to assume that they use their own because not only is it very good but it better suits their needs and weapon systems.

Call me nieve but is this thing actually practicle. If I would be in that room, and Id see a gun slowing being aimed at me id run out and shoot that guy before he even had the chance to bring his weapon to bear, or Id simply pull the gun out of his hand. Is this thing actually effective or no?

I say this for your concern is actually one of the first things that are dwelt with when learning how to fight in CQB or MOUT situations and with proper training and different techniques you can overcome your concern or obstacle.

Now all that is with out that new weapon or device. With it, in the hands of a specially trained operator, can only be a step up to what was done before.

Again, with training, you learn how to go about corners and to prevent your situations from happening and with this weapon it adds a new dimension to your training and it is very effective.

I know this might not make perfect sense but it is the best I could do in writing (for further and better understanding, you would need to see a visual demonstration of MOUT techniques or experience it for your self) and also trying not to violate any OPSEC rules on giving away training tactics, so this is the best explanation I can give,

Gee...I wonder where the Israeli's got the idea from? in the movie it said it was a new weapon system. I first heard of Land Warrior in '95 I would tend to believe that the US got the idea(as simple as it is) to put a camera on a gun.

Israel did not get this idea from the U.S. and visa versa, the U.S. did not get their idea from Israel

Secondly, the Israeli invented weapon in the video has nothing to do with the Israeli land warrior program which they actually call in English the “Future Infantry Warrior program (FIWP)” or the U.S. one (“Land Warrior Program”) for that manner. No they are two separate things. The weapon in the video is a separate invention that adds and improves on existing weapons systems whereas these new programs work on new and futuristic ones.

Lastly, what movie?!? :roll: Again there is the U.S “Land Warrior Program” which is a actual project and then there is a movie?!? I think you got confused somehow with a movie you saw and with an actual program :roll:

No need to apologize, I applied to Canadian Royal Military College but I was denied (now im just down the road from RMC attending Queens Univ ) because of a hearing problem which I got from getting kicked when I played soccer (Goal keeping can be danerous ;) ). So, yeah thats my life story. Im sure you can undertand how to ppl like me who arn't in the military would view something like this with doubt, I can only theorize about how this stuff works. This is why Im part of this fourm, I learn stuff I otherwise wouldn't have a chace too. :)

As for this site. Yeah I too like to share and view idea’s and pictures with other members of other militaries and to learn other techniques and anything else about them :D

As for everyone else (non-military) well yeah I enjoy thier postings as well ;)
